QB development is a myth. The QB either has it or doesn't. You could not stretch Ethling any further. Brandon Harris was the same QB at NC. Do you really think the Freshman QB on Monday night was developed by Saban?

Whatever it takes to justify the Ensminger hire, huh?

Scoring points? A myth. Beating Alabama? Myth.

I have only seen one name that was a good QB.

Only other one was an A&M qb that won games when A&M was good. But was a very very avg QB.

Do LSU fans say Crowton and Stud were great QB coaches because Lee and Jefferson won a lot of games?

Catman has always been a melty little bitch. The hire is what it is. Hope it works out!

I hate the hire, but I can have an honest discussion as well.

Steve was a well respected OC and QB coach in the 90s.

That was a long time ago, but it is what it is.

Eric Zeier, Corey Pullig, Jason Campbell are all quarterbacks he coached and developed.

Yes, it was ages ago.

I thought he was more of a TE coach. We’ll wait if a DLINE coach can jump to HC I guess a TE coach can jump to OC. Whatever

He coached Jason Campbell his JR year only and then became the TE coach...

Why does SE get credit for him?

As the quarterback coach at Auburn, Ensminger helped develop Jason Campbell, who went on to become an NFL first round draft pick.

So its not a fair question to ask why a guy touted with such high regards by LSU for developing QBs was coaching our TEs for almost the past decade?

A decade in which we needed the most help at QB development?

How is this not a fair question?

All that developement in 1 year for a 4 year starter? Steve was the TE coach his senior year.. why?

That is a fair question. But it was not the question in the OP.

Didn't he coach Trey McClure in high school at Central. He was a QB.

Don’t know why his career went the way it did. Only Steve can answer that question.

But from an LSU fan from that era, Ensminger was thought of as one of the hottest up and coming offensive minds of that time period.

It was painful watching Zeier light up the SEC with Ensminger pulling the strings, while LSU sucked and had Curley Hallman.

After some really good years at Georgia and A&M, he had some bad years at Clemson and Auburn.

I hate the hire - big time. But deny that Ensminger was a well known and respected OC and QB coach at one time is a lie.
