Oh yeah, thats right. You cant... because there hasn't been one. So the people who say our defense will take a step back this year have forgotten that our coordinator didnt dart for the NFL. And our offense returns practically everyone with a new coordinator. i seriously think we do better than 10-3 this year, but we'll see.

You really think we can replace Minter, Reid, Montgomery, etc. in one year?

Reid, Montgomery?? Yes. Martin wont miss a beat at safety and Rasco is damn good. Im more worried about replacing Mingo. Not because of his production. But because teams had to account for him every play and was double teamed or had a back on his side blocking. His raw speed and pursuit was amazing and will be tough to replace that. Hopefully guys step up.

Minter?? Just gonna move Barrow inside and have Kwon, Debo, T Jones out there with him. We may not have 1 LB as good as Minter, but as a unit we will be improved.

And everybody that will be replacing said players have already played big time minutes. We rotate so many guys in during the season that a lot of the back ups see legit minutes.

Remember how we couldn't possibly replace Sheppard, Nevis, and Peterson after the '10 season?

Let me start by saying there have been no bad defenses under him. However they gave up td drives in 4q in games we either lost (ala, Clemson) or could have lost (sc, om,ark) where a stop was needed to win or put game away. In the end I think the d will again be very good this year

I seriously , definitely, hope we'll win a lot of games . Please stop talking.

It's all going to depend on if CAM and METT are going for the kill on offense.

Chavis has done an excellent job overall but I agree that he inexplicably has the D play too soft sometimes, especially late in games. Against Bama last year, on their last drive, I think Bama completeed 3 15+ yard passes ON THE SIDELINE! In my opinion, that shouldn't happen in that situation. Also, I remember in 2011 against West Virginia when Geno Smith had 65 pass attempts and he wasn't sacked once until the very end. Makes no sense. You have to mix it upp and pressure the QB. As good as Chavis has been, it seems he plays "contain the QB" a little too often. It certainly worked against Manziel and A & M but there were times when Manziel had all day to throw. Also, against BAMA in the BCS championship game, he again refused to blitz and, as a result, McCarron got way too comfortable and that set the tone. It was impressive, however, how we held off Bama in that game as long as we did. The same can be said for the Bama game last year, when Bama was completely stopped in the second half until the last drive. I just wish that sometimes Chavis would take more chances as far as blitzing goes because, if you think about it, when great QB's have bad games it is almost always because their protection has broken down and, no matter how good u are, you can't throw the ball if u don't have time to throw. In my opinion, the first thing a defense should do is make the opposing QB hear footsteps- no matter what league you are playing in. All in all, though, Chavis has been very good.

Remember we started off with none of those guys in 2009 and still had a great season on defense.

I hope everyone is right. And the point about losing Sheppard, Peterson and Nevis in one year after Chad Jones the previous year is a good point.
