Hitting first pitch served him pretty well last year, but I agree. Seems like he's trying to do too much.

He’s actually got a really good eye, and he can put the bat on the ball pretty much anywhere - whether it’s in the strike zone or not.
But that’s actually his problem. He needs to wait for better pitches and not just reach or force everything.
