agree with two miles one hat...miles is not tough enough to handle the sec...without a team of pro players, he can't cut it....

My source just told me that Saban is headed to the Raiders after the loss to Florida

So, to all you LSU fans who want to get rid of Miles you are right because he's not a good coach. A good coach would have gone undefeated at least one of the past 4 years for LSU. You can tell by what you see on the field Miles is not a good coach.
Whether or not Miles is a "good" coach is TBD. But it's not accurate to think that it takes an undefeated season to make one a "good" coach. You could probably find a four year span over which Bryant didn't go undefeated but I don't think Bama fans would isolate that four-year span and ever conclude he wasn't a good coach.
I think we'll know by what staff changes Les makes over the next few weeks.

if miles lets his oc call the plays and not get conservative and gets a good dc lsu will be playing like the power house that they really are. we have more than enough talent on the team and even more coming in. just need leadership and i believe they will get it.

a coach is only as good as the coaches he surrounds himself with and that in anything.he dont have to be great just ok. ceos and presidents included in this statement.

Let's not forget that Bama had to hire a lying sack of shite to get respectable again.
Sadly, we did, too.

Really?
We lost 1 game in 2005 and I believe there were some extenuating circumstances for that one, don't you?
In 06 we played 4 top 10 teams on the road? (How many did you play this year? Hint: 1)
In 07 we played 6 SEC teams who went on to bowl games and 7 if you count USC as bowl eligible. (How many have you played this year? Hint: 4 including the 6-6 team in UK )
I realize you have a great coach in Saban. But please, your schedule this season could not have worked in your favor any better. Complacency will now be your biggest problem, as well as getting everyone's best shot. Good luck.

Regular season. You're not counting the SEC-CG game as a loss? However, the point could be made further - LSU has had undefeated seasons (with a full schedule) in 1958, 1933 (3 ties), and 1908. So we didn't even have "good" coaches (he didn't say "great" he said a "good" coach would have gone undefeated during the last 4 years) in all of the other 115 years of LSU football?
Arnsparger wasn't "good"?
Bernie Morre wasn't "good"?
Mac wasn't "good"?
Saban wasn't "good"?

Fire a coach a year after a NC. Yeah, right. They couldn't if they wanted too. They would be grilled.

After watching the Iron Bowl on Saturday, I did regret losing Saban.
His team looked well coached and took care of business. LSU used to play like that at times.
And Saban went undefeated. That really stung me to see the Gumps have such a great season and ours in the tank. What a turn around from a year ago.
Now is Miles' chance to shine if he's going to. Next season will be his first chance to respond to real adversity and a disgruntled fan base. If Miles puts together at least a division championship next year given our personnel issues, I will be impressed. If he doesn't... well you all can imagine that better than I can.
Also, I wish CLM could give a post game interview like Saban. Saban's interview with Tracy Wolfson after the IB Saturday was very well done. Contrast that with some of Miles' post gamers.

WE ARENT GETTING SABAN BACK, LIVE WITH IT, QUIT CRYING ABOUT FCKING SABAN. HE LEFT, WHETHER MILES LEAVES OR NOT SABAN IS NOT COMING BACK. We one 1 National Championship in our school's history before Saban got here. Miles won one in his first four years here!!!! Now quit whining and live with the fact that our current head coach may not be as good as our last, but he is still a DAMN GOOD FOOTBALL COACH and he WANTS TO BE HERE MORE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE. We had a young team this year that will drastically improve next year.
If you want to be a little bitch and say, but we arent going to be better next year, we have a dumb coach, we are on a decline, etc... then no one can help you because you are lost in your ignorance.

His 3rd year we went 10-2 and I still wanted him fired because it was still obvious he was a bad coach even though our record was not indicative of that.
EXACTLY!

You guys need to clean up that crystal ball. You have been predicting failure for Saban and Alabama for two years. It doesn't make you appear very bright.
Miles has the key to bringing us back. Let's see if he has the acumen to get it done. Throwing Shite at Alabama and Florida is not going to improve our fortunes. It wasn't Alabama or Florida that got us into this mess it was Miles.

To the bammer:
Every Bama fan should be thankful for what Shula did as he rescued the team during a probationary period with limited scholarships and were without a coach in the summer.
Considering where Bama was at one point, Shula in fact revived your team and left enough of a base for Saban to build on.
As a former bama QB and the rescue that Shula did for y'all, you Bama fans should really appreciate him alot more than you do, but considering you're Bama fans who like to smash coaches windows and issue bomb threats for not winning enough, I guess it should be expected.
As for Miles, I am not a fan and never was since I was exposed to Big 12 games all the time when I lived in Dallas and thought he was not a very good coach overall while at OSU, but he has earned the right to right this ship here at LSU. If he doesn't make changes or is unable to right this ship, then after '09 he needs to be gone. He deserves a shot!

Alabama willnot go undefeated this year, so how does that make a coach good or bad. A couple of those losses were direct results of hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike. So do not know sh_t.

Just curious. How many of Shula's recruits are in the top two of the lineup on Offense and Defense of Saban?
Is Saban winning with Shula's recruits? It appears that Saban is winning with many of Shula's recruits (see John Parker Wilson) with some of Saban's recruits.
Eerily similar to Miles. He used the players Saban left him with, and won more games the first year than Saban did after five years of recruiting. How does anyone explain that?
Miles' biggest mistake is the Co DC. He needs to fix it. Did recruiting Perilloux hurt LSU chances this year? Yes, it did. Yet, I will take a NC anytime even if means losing five games the next year, if that can be corrected the next year.
Remember, without Perilloux, we do not win the BCS. (See the SEC CG)
Next question, Who is the QB for Bama next year? I have seen Saban coach with average QB's. It resulted in a five game loss season. It was not pretty.

Miles and Shula are not comparable. Yes, Miles won with Saban's players. He also won more with Saban's players than Saban did, and put together better recruiting classes. Had Saban stayed, would Justin Vincent have hit the bottle? Would Alley have gotten fat? The world will never know.
It takes a damned good coach to go 10-2 in the SEC. For Bama fans to not realize this is just tragic, and cost a good man his job in Mike Shula.
I can not wait for Bama to see what happens with McElroy next year. Imagine what their season would be if McElroy violates team rules and gets kicked off the team, and Star Jackson goes down. You'd have what LSU had this year. What Alabama will not have that LSU has is a crystal ball.
No coach has ever won a NC with two schools. Saban is a good coach but he's no better than any other NC winning coach.
