to all you LSU fans who want to get rid of Miles you are right because he's not a good coach.

We're stuck with him for awhile secondary to signing a contract with a buy out clause.

I actually think the guy could be outstanding if he played with fire in his soul. He's given that impression before, but it seems like he relaxed this year*.

Well, since he won a national championship, he'll get a bit more time to work things out. That's something that Debose, Franchione, Price, and Shula never did.

As for your need to come here and be all knowing, realize that the only reason that you are where you are is because you went out and paid top dollar for a mercenary who happens to be a great coach. It really has nothing to do with Alabama at all. If you win anything this year, it will not be Alabama's victory, it will be Saban's.

Saban and Tubberville will have something in common next Sunday. Undefeated regular seasons with nothing to show for it.

At least Tubbs will have the SEC Championship to show for it. Saban will be 12-1 without any championship to speak of.

I think Miles is a good coach, but not a great coach. He is a great recruiter that inherited a very good program. Miles was smart and surrounded himself with great coordinators (Bo Pelini/Gary Crowton). That said, I agree with the majority of your statement.

We need to take that mentality, if needed.

I'll add Miles is not a bad coach. Just not a good coach.

Well put. I'm sure some in Bama realize this, but most have no clue.

He seems average with spurts of above average coaching...never lights out though. He needs quality people around him...and I think LSU like many SEC teams can attract that quality for him.

+1 Great post and very good perspective. You hit the nail on the head. To many people just don't see it, because like you said they are strictly looking at W-L record and not the little things about a team like discipline, or lack there of. Leadership, we have none. Really bad decisions by a coaching staff, which some people still refuse to admit or don't have enough knowledge of the game to see it. You can see the program heading south,if you know what got you to the top. It's not there anymore.

I've been reading your message board for a while because it's entertaining and interesting to see the perspective of another SEC fan base.

I felt like posting because the arguments I heard during the Shula tenure were similar to what I'm seeing on your board now.

Also, Florida has a lot more talent than Alabama, has been crushing everyone they play and has a good coach. It's real rocket surgery I'm seeing on here all you predicting us to get crushed. And if we lose and go 13-1 with no championship to show for it, I'll still be happy because we are way ahead of schedule.

We're not the only ones predicting a Bama loss I'm sure.

No one can complain about 13-1.

Actually, the Gump nation will slip into complete meltdown mode, they will begin wondering whether or not Sabear can actually replace the Bear and do the same things that he did, they will require him to wear a houndstooth hat on the sidelines and they will demand that he whack Steele if they give up more than 20 points to Florida.

You got a decent shot of winning that game, not that I want to see that happen, but just my honest opinion.
