Exactly, you won a game by 10 points AT HOME with the opponent very much alive and in the game only because the offense was anemic (and anemic is putting it nicely). The defense getting 5 INTERCEPTIONS and 5 THREE & OUTS and only winning by 10 at home is not going to cut it against the top teams in the country.

All of this is obvious - for him to be so arrogant and dismissive to a completely valid and concerning question is pathetic and shows why this offense sucks. All he had to say is - look our offense has struggled and we have to be much better if we want to compete for our goals this season. Instead he blamed us fans for not being grateful and even had the nerve to reference the 3rd down run in basically garbage time as his defense.

Brian Kelly should be ashamed and embarrassed by that response and it’s why I have no faith our offense will get better under Sloan and him. I hope I am wrong.

For Christ sakes, we have single digit passes that have traveled
over 20 yards. A lot of this is on Nuss too which is more shocking to me…

Did you storm the field in ‘97 and ‘22? I did. We beat legit teams. We won the West with DiNardo and we actually won some bowl games with Gerry.

I don’t know if Gerry could still coach and Im not saying he could. I’m saying Kelly isn’t a fricking but better than no championship Kelly.

I’m not a DiNardo fan, BTW but he’s the one Kelly reminds me of. Les Miles reminded me of Cholly Mac and Dale Brown. Saban reminds me of Paul Dietzel.

Dinardo lost his OC (morris watts) in 99 and his DC (carl reese) in 98 and the program imploded when he promoted his WR Coach Bob McConnell to OC and brought in Lou Tepper as DC

let’s not bring up Dinardo any more

Name calling “mentally challenged” and then even worse telling me to be an “Ole Miss fan” just because you disagree with my opinion is the epitome of someone with blinders on.

Once you watch as much football as I have, and logged as much seat time as I have, you can take off your knee pads and assert your own opinion. I’ve been watching LSU since McClendon and I’ve not missed a game (person, radio, TV) since 1979.

We can respectfully disagree but I not tolerate being called names like an Ole Miss fan. That’s just unacceptable.

Being an LSU fan means we recognize we probably eventually will wind up in the delta of the Mississippi River

Dude, jayden had some awful games in '22. No one was calling for him to be benched during the '23 season

Maybe you haven’t bothered to notice, but there are no truly great coaches in college football today. None. Not one. Kirby is about as good as it gets at the moment, and NIL and the portal have brought him back to the pack a bit.

There are a couple like maybe Lanning who may get there in time, but most everyone has been up and down to some degree. Even guys like Dabo and Day have had some mediocre seasons despite also winning titles.

If you say you wouldn't take Lanning, Kirby, Sark, or Day over BK you're full of it.

Then don’t fricking act like one you old goat. We don’t count co-West “Championships” here like Ole Myth does. And you did it just to try and prop up a weak arse straw man argument in favor of DiNardo. Give me a fricking break. .

I’m going to pretend you are actually a serious poster for a moment. First off- I never said that. I just said none of them were great coaches.

I would take Kirby in a heartbeat. Most would. He knows how to win in the SEC and he has titles. But he is also not a dominant today as he was 3-5 years ago.

I’m not a big Day fan. His Michigan losses and fricking around and losing his DC on the heels of a title, the main reason he just won it- he’s got some red flags. I don’t think he would fit here.

Sark- not 100% sure about him either. For all of his elite talent on offense and all of the fireworks we saw from him at Bama, the defense had had to carry that program. Two highly rated QBs and he’s not doing any better with Manning that fricking Sloan is with Nuss.

I would take Lanning over either Day or Sark on pure potential. He’s knocking on the door and he’s young.

Watching that press conference BK handled it well. Your offense has been slow and one of the worst in the last few years, and you want to bitch and moan because BK didn’t admonish them on a national stage. Before he came to LSU I couldn’t stand BK but watching that press conference shows me that he feels the same way that fans do. He’s upset with the offensive output but he knows that we got the win and he knows what it takes to keep a team together. BK’s responses may be flamboyant but Orgeron could never maintain the confidence of that press conference while also understanding your role as a coach and not publicly shaming your coordinators or players.

But to his surprise, people in the south actually know football and can see problems when they exist.

You’re right. I think it’s partially that. I also think he does expect the offense to progress and get better as the season goes. Is he right? Time will tell. Right now, yeah, the offense is questionable at this point. The defense has been nothing but spectacular. I haven’t had this much fun watching an LSU defense in like a decade. The concern over the offense is warranted, but also so is maybe taking a step back for just a moment and saying “hey, we are 3-0 for the first time in years. Yeah, our offense needs work, but they have managed to put some points on the board against teams and with this defense, that may be all we need. Nobody honestly looks unbeatable this year. I think we will be alright.
