question for the JJ bashers.
tell me what the difference from the 08 GT game and all of last year was?
it was the fact that the O-line sat on their asses the whole year last year and for the 08 GT game the o-line was a hell of alot better and actually blocked hence leading to JJ's great game and also making me believe more and more that if he had more than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball last season we wouled have seen a totally different QB and offense.
im not much on the comparison thing but have to totally disagree with the Aaron Brooks comparison since JJ has never that i could see had a smile on his face when he screwed up he was always determined to try his best and proved throughout the summer that he was atleast attempting to improve but we shall see if it payed off on sept. 4

That includes hight, wieght and anything else physical. Brees is mentally and metaphysically the most gifted QB around but he'd probably love to have another 5".

You actually sound like jj after a loss. My completion percentage was good. Blah blah. Oh wait. You took 6 sacks n we lost the game. Who gives a Damn about your completion percentage

What a absolutely terrible comparison....

Physically gifted means athleticism. Yes, JJ was blessed with height, and for that matter, athleticism. But he is not one of the top two most gifted QBs in the country.

JJ's stats in the GT bowl game:
Comp/Att Yards Avg. TD Int
16/25 142 5.7 1 0
Honestly not too much difference from the 09 season stat wise. People tend to blow his performance in this game way out of proportion. He didn't deserve the MVP Charles Scott did.

maybe true on the MVP but it was definantly a better performance than most of last year except maybe AU game

Vince Young was the most physically gifted college QB I've ever seen. I think Terrell Pryor, JJ and Jake Locker are the 3 college QB's who most approach the Vince Young standard. Who else is there? Matt Barkley can't run.

Totally agree. Having 4 weeks to prepare for one game helps alot.. It just blows my mind that everyone uses the GT game as his standout game. He managed the game. He got the ball to play makers and didn't turn the ball over, yet he struggled mightily to that on a consistent basis last year.

my point exactly he managed the game . last season he wasnt allowed to he had to run a check with me offense and wasnt allowed to manage but in 08 he was able to manage and did so pretty good........... and also they were runnign a different offense that year none of this confusing bs that was used last year it was mostly a straight power offense with a little play action involved which is a strong suite for JJ as far as i ahd seen in his high school days

Chris Leak - no. Wayne Madkin - yes.

I take you started watching CFB after Michael Vick was gone

If i ponder whether JJ has the smarts to be an SEC QB, does that make me racist?

I would like to add that JR is one of the most physically gifted QB's I have ever seen.

Vick was more physically talented IMO
Vince Young has the stature though.
Vick has better arm. Better runner.
