I kind of agree with your premise especially in regards to Jennings.

It would be no surprise to me if he struggled. People that are just assuming he will come out and play like a star are setting unrealistic expectations.

Could it happen? Sure, but I would not expect it.

I'll stick withy sentiment that if Jennings doesn't play well you guys really don't have a chance. You've gotta have a QB play a good game if you want to win. That's not arrogant and it's no stretch.

At face value it might not seem arrogant, but in this scenario of Jenning's not playing well you are saying LSU has no chance, irrespective of how your quarterback plays.

LSU has not lost to a team that just came out and let a game manager hide behind a rushing attack. In every loss the opposing quarterback played exceptionally well. Despite the ground game, trenches, etc..you are absolutely going to need Ruddock to make plays in the passing game, he is going to need to play well in order for Iowa to win.

All of this is not factoring in turnovers by non quarterbacks, and special teams play which could also play huge factors in the game and help/hurt each quarterack's chances in attaining a win.

And lsu still averaged 35 ppg. You think iowas offense puts up 35? I don't.

Sure he can... But this is NOT about just Jennings... LSU is far above Iowa as far as talent.... SORRY.. LSU rolls unless they have 5 turnovers.............

Serious question: are you as confident as brew hawk and feel that if Jennings doesn't have a good game lsu stands no chance?

Sure, your defense was outstanding that year.

Our defense might look outstanding when paired with the Iowa offense.

You can rank the units 1-4, and of the Iowa O, LSU O, Iowa D and LSU D the weakest unit to take the field Jan 1 is Iowa's offense.

I think you are overrating your offense and underselling our defense at this point. LSU has had a young defense all year, the number of underclassmen in the two deep is staggering. You're so confident of this Iowa defense, but LSU's defensive performance vs A&M is more impressive than anything on Iowa's resume. Here they are though paired against an underwhelming Iowa offense. I fully expect Chavis to load up on your run game, let his young corners be isolated on your receivers, and then blitz the ever living hell out of Rudock.

The offense made many a mfer quit in the 4th also, vs stacked LOS all year.

Serious answer:

I am confident in Ferentz's ability to get the team to play lights out for bowl games compared to our talent level.

If Jennings has a bad game, i.e. sacks, fumbles, bad reads, interceptions. Iowa should win, my guess by 10-14 points.

Jennings plays good and doesn't have more than one/two interceptions and or fumbles, can scramble for first downs, opens up the running lanes, `200 yds passing. I see a score of 24-17 going either way, unless Iowa can't get going offensively, then LSU wins

Jennings plays great, LSU wins. By how much would depend on what Iowa can or can't do.

I see lsu struggling if Jennings turns the ball over.

However, I don't think lsu will have to air it out to win the game, so if it looks like Jennings is making bad decisions, I think we just ground and pound with some easy PA reads and handle Iowa with ease.

I still can't wrap my mind around this "it all depends on Jennings" sentiment.
What if LSU pinches on your run game and picks off your QB a couple of times? Would they stand a chance against your phenomenal team then?

Again, I just don't get this baseless Iowa arrogance.

You know that could work, but I'm going to put my money on our 3 Senior linebackers playing in their last game under an Iowa uniform. I know they want this after last years debacle.

This is what I've been trying to say. Last I saw, Rudock had to take the field, I think some Hawk fans think all he has to do is hand the ball off and they are good.

I'm sorry I didn't go over every possible scenario, but I did add in there "depending on what Iowa does offensively". He/she asked a question about Jennings , I didn't realize answering someones question was us being arrogant.

Serious response:

LSU will run right at your stacked box that gives 200 to every ranked team with ease. Passes at will against your slow secondary with stellar NFL talented receivers and wins by a score of 31 to 17. Would be much worse if we played Mett.

You forget about LSU's debacle last year.
This LSU team is far more impressive than you people are giving them credit.

I'm not saying anyone is going to get blown out, but if your boys are really as "encouraged" as they've said, they will get shocked.

Will you really though? Cause you can get as much action as you want with Iowa straight up.
