I understand. But my opinion remains the same about this one. We shall see next week. I don't have the same sickening feeling that I did after the Auburn game last year.
Yeah, Auburn was worse, and we only put up 12 in that game.
I guess the 4th quarter just had that Clemson hangover feel to it.

knowing how good this team could be and knowing the schedule ahead of us, I am somewhat sickened.

The sky is not falling. I promise!

Yeah, let's risk injuries on a wet field that had people dropping all over just to try to run up the score. We turtled because there was no reason not to. Stop being ignorant to the truth just to bring the negative bullshite out. It wasn't ever a game in the least.

and what exactly is the ratio of injury risk for running pass plays vs running it up the gut? How bout the ratio of injury risk for pass plays vs the injury risk for leaving your 1st team dline on the field the entire 4th quarter while they're repeatedly getting drove on and completely gassed?
I hope freak's ok...
Not to mention having to leave them out their the week before we play probably the second best offense in the SEC. The reality is that our defense just isn't deep enough this year to rely on them like Les has in the past.

u can pass up 21---wtf are u talking about? if u dont youll never score again. they just have to be safe passes but you still have to mix it up. even take a shot here and there. just do more run than pass---not 90/10

Why? When we wanted to we absolutely moved the ball at will. Whenever we needed a TD, we got one.

You are horrible. We killed auburn. Sorry we didn't win you money.

I think we made the game unnecessarily close by going conservative. I think this bothers people because the scenario was far too familiar and we may end up doing it again this year. So it's either come from behind and win at the end or sit on a lead and hope for the best. This defense is not capable of playing that type of game.

I bet no LSU coach has ever tried to pass on AU while holding a big second half lead...

We ran it up pretty bad on UAB and Kent State. Dry field and I bet we don't play as conservative. More likely to make unnecessary mistakes with a slick ball. Like I said, we responded when we needed to and never let them get within less than 14. You also forget how close the game was to being 42-21. Tre White should've had that pick 6.

I mean I do agree with you that the second half and even somewhat the 2nd quarter was vanilla, but do you remember how bad our offense was last year? The year before that with JJ was terrible too.. Mett still had over 200 yards passing and a td which I know any of us would have taken when we had Lee and Jj. That on top up Hill rushing for 180+ yards isn't bad. We just did a bone head fake field goal and fumbled in the redzone so thats 10 points right there.

It was rainy and wet for god sake. Did you play a down of football in your entire life?

I love how you people think it is all Cam when the plays work and all Miles when they don't.
You really are a knucklehead.

but the fake field goal was obnoxiously stupid. NOt like it was 4th and two or something like that. Really think Frudge is going to run for 10 yards up the middle even catching them off guard? just plain dumb. We used to run fakes at just the right times, now we just do it to up hold a rep or something. I'm puzzled.
I couldn't agree more. It was such a moronic call that I couldn't believe it (much like against Bama last year). You know, if a couple of freak things would have happened (and they almost did), the head coach would have never heard the end of that call.

To be fair, this was the first game that this was a problem. I maintain that it was the game plan to sit on a lead tonight. As shitty as it sounds, they didn't want to take any big risks.
I call a 4th and 9 fake field goal where you run up the middle a big risk.

This is true. Whenever they scored - we scored too. That was important - and impressive.

It's extremely obvious when Miles takes over. It's the first time I've seen it this year and I'm sure he will give himself that liberty even more as the season progresses.
Running the ball on a muddy field when up by two TDs or more? Tell me more about this football strategy that ONLY Les Miles employs! For God's sake, I've even seen run and shoot teams and spread passing teams lean heavy on running games when up by two or more scores. No way Cam Cameron ever ran the hell out of Ray Rice when up by 14+ points, right?
Oh, and tell us more about what Les Miles play calling looks like, given this is our fourth very different looking offense we've had under Miles.
