A big problem has been that Domingue doesn't get good hang time on his kick offs. It's hurt our coverage team, which isn't that great to begin with. Gamble gets a ton of hang time on his kicks. I think we've got that issue solved.

Which is insane and shows a complete lack of reasonable judgement regarding that scenario. You dont risk a TD or incredible field position for the chance at maybe 5-10 yards of field position. The risk reward is so freaking lopsided.

Im hoping this isnt actually the thought process.

This right here

No, Peveto owes us an apology for cashing in fat checks to put out a sub-par product on the field.

shite, let's go get Joe Robinson back. He's the one who actually put together that phenomenal special teams unit in 2011. I know Peveto helps with the linebackers, but something has to give

I used to watch all the rent a win games, but coach miles philosophy is that he still only does what he needs to do.

he let a lot of second stringers on defense play, which was great, but he never lets the offense "work" on weaknesses, and we don't get to see much of the second string. the backs played a little bit more. but look, he put Jennings in with less than 2 minutes to play.

we end up in a close game at halftime more than 90 per cent of the time - seems like it anyway. so it can be very frustrating watching lsu play these games.

While it may not hurt to get an assistant to help with ST, he is a vital recruiter, and losing him would be bad for the organization.
Look up 2016/2017 recruits. His name is stamped on plenty

I was thinking about this while watching a replay of another game. The way you take out a dangerous returner, or "cover" your "kickoff coverage" deficiencies, is to just not let them return one.

I can't believe a coach is stupid enough to want them to return the ball just to save around 10 yards, even when they constantly give up 25 or more. I mean we are 106th in opponent KR, giving up 23.9 yards per return. We are also 124th in punt return, giving up 24 yards a return on our opponents' four returns.

South Carolina may not be a very good overall team, but Pharoh Cooper could make the game interesting simply by returning punts.

BOOM. This is a FACT and I have heard it straight from the man's mouth. And look....I have no problem with this in principal....and if you notice, Gamble did his job.....very high ball...good hang time...the damn coverage team just sucks at getting down field.

We have no GUNNER.

Then you adapt and tell the kicker to kick the damn ball out of the end zone.

No gunner- no catchable ball. Make sense?

BilJ has been on this bandwagon since the day Peveto was hired back. So far, BillJ has been absolutely correct in his concerns.

recruiters aren't that difficult to come by. Is his ability good enough that you're willing to let these subpar units potentially cost us a game?

I expect him to score twice. One, in the conventional way for a WR, and one by the way of passing, returning, or rushing.

You may have missed the part of my post stating adding a coach to assist may help. Otherwise I agree ST needs fixing , period .

We spent a scholly on Gamble. Kickoff is all he really does. If he cant kick it deep in the endzone then we screwed up bad.

They've put speedsters on the kickoff team instead of hitters. We go down fast but crumble under the hits.
