Mingo will have more tackles and sacks than Montgomery, no question.

because when you convert third downs more you get at least three extra plays.

510-471= 39 say you convert 2 more 3rd downs a game that is 28 more third downs 28x3= 84, which means 84 more plays say you split it 42 and 42 pass to run. there you go that is how you wind up with more rushes than last year

You are very smart to understand that R. Martin can play both CB & Safety. It's not much he can't do on the field. I predict a little more on the tackling side & ints if he's on the field.

LSu is going to have a top 15 offense nationally? :rotflmao:

LSUs defense led the nation in turnover margin last year. I don't know if you can always bank on the other team giving the ball up like it happened last year. Not saying LSU didn't force them....they just cashed in heavily on mistakes last year. Might not be able to count on that this year.

West VA put up like 570 yards on them I think? Oregon outgained them as well.

LSU had a defense that took a ton of risks last year. I think losing your best player on the defense might keep you guys from doing that as much this year.

Not saying their defense won't be ridiculous again, just don't know if they will perform exactly like last year.

While everyone here shits on their QB play last year....LSU finished 24th in the nation in QB rating. The two QBs threw for 2100 yards, 21 TDs and 5 INTs with a 62% completion. I would be willing to put up some money that your new QB turns the ball over more than 5 times this year.

Phil Steele begs to differ, and he IS the most accurate prognosticator in the history of the Milky Way--just ASK him!

Hey dude, you put you opinion out there and spent a lot of time thinking about it--good for you.

Of course folks are gonna differ and hate. So what? I hope it's all even CLOSE to realistic by January 2013!

Ware- 152 832yards 5.5ypc 6tds 2 fumbles Ford- 137 869yards 6.3ypc 7tds 1 fumbles Blue- 83 602yards 7.3ypc 6tds 2 fumbles

Did you factor in that as soon as this happens the fumbling RB will sit on the bench the rest of the season? Miles doesn't put up with that.

With TM7 back, you can expect alot of turnovers, and alot of them are forced not mistakes.

if they would have dropped 1,000 on us, they still would have lost the game.

like what? blizting a DB off the edge?

he might make more mistakes, but he'll put up more TDs and yards too.

In all seriousness how did you come up with these calculations? Have you been watching money ball or something?

my thoughts exactly.. how did you fabricate these numbers and appropriate the touches among the players?

I think TM7 is being overhyped. With Claiborn on the number 1 for the opposing team, he is going to get thrown at a ton more.

It seemed to me like Mccaron was looking for him on 1/9 and actually picking on him with some of his throws.

I think LSUs defense will take a step back statistically this year but their offense will put up more total yards but have more turnovers.

Having said that, I predict 10-2 and a BCS Bowl bid.

the only thing being overhyped is that TM7 is bad in coverage and it was based on one game on a multitude of routes that are designed to beat man coverage. In addition to that, a perfectly thrown pass and a great catch by a WR cannot be defended unless the DB is sitting on it.

you dont think teams threw at TM7 last year with Claiborne on the other side? Claiborne wasn't exactly some scrub that broke out last year. Everyone knew he was good.

like I said perfect passes. You gotta tip your hat to AJ and the WRs.

It's possible. I say we win 11 games minimum. that includes bowl. Not sure who can beat us though, we'll have to come out flat to lose.

Amen, a perfectly thrown crossing route/slant/out against man coverage is money every time, no matter how good the DB.

And way to turn the issue around as well. The "overhype" does indeed lie in opposing fans' views that TM7 can't cover because he was "exposed" against Alabama. If anything, that was great coaching and execution on their part, not lack of ability on his.
