I still can't believe their coach was previously an assistant at Walters State CC before taking that job. How many people do you think they offered the job to before landing a JUCO assistant to take it over?
They pay him 68k a year. That’s about what a 2a high school coach in Texas makes. I’m sure there wasn’t a long line of guys. That being said he seems like a dude and I hope his pay day is coming

Pretty sure their stadium has been updated. More recent pics have a blue wall and a more modern scoreboard.

If LSU loses I hope they win it all.
Gotta wonder how they recruit on such amenities.

Maybe this national exposure will get them some baseball fans willing to buy tickets to their games. Skip said "build it and they will come". We will see.
Except he said that in Baton Rouge, which for all its faults is still a city, and a Capital city at that. Along with LSU being a long established brand.
That town's entire population is 17k.
Even at a packed game, the fans that don't have seats are probably fine bringing folding chairs.
There would need to be constant missed revenue, from lack of seats/tickets to sell, to justify any real expansion.
And next year, when Murray state is back in obscurity as their best players are poached and maybe their coach?
Where will that leave them?
Their best bet is to enjoy the ride, pocket the funds, do some nice minor updates to their stadium, and invest in some facilities that may actually have some long term pros.

Y’all should check out Little Rock stadium.

Little Rock is rough but for giggles check out Joseph J. Jaroschak Field, home of the St Peter’s Peacocks or Quinnipiac’s field which is turf but does not have bleachers or concessions. These are division 1 baseball programs.

According to Off Campus, he had a raise in past 2 years and now makes ~$120k. But still cuts the grass.

That’s really sad actually. I can’t get into MLB but college baseball is awesome to watch. Especially come tournament time. It sucks because the SEC and ACC are really the only two conferences that takes college baseball seriously which is not enough for ESPN to justify showing weekly weekend matchups throughout the day like they do college football and basketball on Saturdays.
That could be one positive with NIL. Kids might start skipping minor league ball in favor of college. From what I am told minor league ball absolutely sucks. It’s a rough life. Some SEC programs are better as far as fan support. Obviously the first round pick kids aren’t going to college, but some of those fringe players who are drafted high. Those guys who teams try to low ball.

That was clear interference and should have ended the game.
What game were you watching?
