a regular season loss to Fla does very little to hurt our playoff chances IF we run thew table in the West. Win the SEC and you're in

LSU plays both each year. Mullen in FL is more a threat than Mullen at MSU, therefore, I would rather him to have stayed and coached against AL and AU, also, each year.

That is just one area, and Alabama doesn't get that many FL recruits anyway.

The ones they do get are elite tho.

Derrick Henry
Amari Cooper
Calvin Ridley
Eddie Jackson
Trent Richardson
Glenn Coffee
T.Cody
J.Juedy

No way Saban has as many national titles without Henry, Cooper, Ridley, Jackson and Trent alone.

His offense is gimmicky because of a talent deficit. I’m glad for him but this is bad for LSU. The only thing worse would be Jimbo to A&M.

Mullen at Florida is great for Florida State and Miami because they will get the better end of the recruiting stick.

I disagree with your take there. An improved and tough Florida team will be easy to recruit for. If you believe Mullen isn't a top quality coach you need to take another look.

I like what you're saying but if Saban sees recruiting get tougher he might allocate more resources to Louisiana and Texas. Hopefully we can improve on our ability to keep our LA recruits home. I know we will lose some but it was kinda frustrating watching LA recruits in the Alabama game this year make a number of plays... sometimes a few in a row

He needed to go to UTe and try to take away Alabama's rent a win every year in that "rivalry game" that no one knew about until the Gumps hatched the idea. I am glad to see him leave MooState. Hopefully Richt, Kiffin and Jimbo will keep his talent limited.

It does renew the topic of permanent opponents. That crap needs to go away. The West teams with Vandy, the Mildcats and the dumpster fire in Knoxville all get a practice game most every year. Go to a full rotation every year.

Mullen's record is 69-46 at MSU? That is not very impressive.

Thats damn impressive at State. He is 2nd best coach in conference.

I think Mullen is a slightly above average coach. He is not a home run hire. He is better than butter teeth, however. I am not cincerned of this selection. They will get better, but Frost or Kelly were real killer coaches.
