LSU Softball is a sleeping giant and the right hire will pay huge dividends in terms of fan support, publicity and championship potential! Will it take a lot for Beth to stay at the helm in BR or is she essentially a lame duck at this point?

You do know they have a shot at being a Top 8 National seed and that was done without Taylor P for several games…. No way does she get fired after this season.

If it does come to pass, my vote would be Courtney Deifel

WBB was off the deep end bad with Fargas. Softball needs an injection but is still very relevant on the national scene. Probably need to change a few coaches but her loyalty could be her undoing.

Zero shot at a top 8 seed.

Even if LSU becomes a softball juggernaut, it barely moves the needle when it comes to paying “huge dividends”.

Mulkey barely moves the needle as it is. Sorry, but that’s just the reality of non-revenue sports.

Today didn't help, but this is incorrect.

RPI is 6. Metrics of Top 25 wins, etc are very good. And the teams with RPI near theirs are also playing like shite.

I think when all is said and done, they end up 9 or 10

Did anyone count the fans at the SEC conference championship game yesterday? Not enough money to go down this road again. Torina will be fine.

I get why people think it may be time to look elsewhere but this is much more like a Mark Richt scenario than a Nicki Fargas scenario except without any championships by any prior coaches like Georgia had.

The way some talk here, you would think Torina has failed to make the postseason several times when in fact she has never failed to make the postseason and has made it to a super regional or WCWS 7 of her 10 postseason appearances through 2022 making the WCWS 4 of those. She will have 11 straight postseason appearances in 12 seasons, and would likely have been 12 of 12 since LSU was 21-3 when Covid canceled the season in 2020.

TLDR: Odds are she will be back next season unless she is tired of it.

Hey SaveFerris, Mulkey rang the closing bell at Wallstreet. Her team is going to the White House. Her players are everywhere on social media. She is in sports media. She and the program are revelant and important to LSU.
