not sure he hit a single shot beyond 4 feet all season.
To be fair, seeing as he could jump like a “Moon Cricket” he simply never HAD to.

But yea he probably should have used college to work on his jump shot for the NBA but he could sure dunk LOL.

I agree with this one. Makes you really wonder how misused or poor his coaching was while he was at LSU during that time. He's an excellent NFL player. He always looked like he was prime to pop off and dominate at LSU but he never realized it until he hit the NFL.

Yep. He's 29 now. If he can play 3-4+ more productive seasons he's got a chance to end his NFL career in the top 20 all-time sack leaders.

Pretty impressive for a 3rd round pick that was sort of disappointing in college.

a guy that starts for 3 years, wins a natty, and is an all-american is not a big surprise when he does well in the NFL.

6'10" guys that can shoot aren't a suprise when they do well in the NBA.
He would have been drafted out of high school if that was still a thing. He was a top 20 nation recruit before he got to LSU.

all good answers

And guys like Hunter and Woods doing so well is a bit of a surprise, but you can't be that surprised when guys drafted in the 3rd round end up being really good NFL players.

Russell Gage is my vote. Not that he has had a stellar NFL career, but he has consistently made the roster and made positive contributions.

The fact that y’all are surprised that Hunter is good is funny. Yeah, I know his sack numbers were not crazy at LSU, but he was always a good player.

Russell Gage, spot starter for LSU, but has had a nice 5-year NFL career. Had a season ending injury before last season started with the Falcons. Trying to catch on with the Ravens this year.

Brick Haley should be forever banned from coaching for the way he underutilized Hunter. I remember when Hunter was in his first OTA with the Vikings they commented on how he didn't even have a strong fundamental approach to his position. It was like he came from a Div III school.

Duop Reath. Undrafted, unheralded player. Now a solid NBA contributor and member of the Australian national team (2020 bronze medal).

Yep Reath is a good one, very raw here, I think only started basketball a couple of years before college. No one would have given him much of chance to play NBA ball when he was here. Paid his dues overseas - took 6 years, but he made it. Good for him.

Naz Reid Best answer so far IMO. I didn't see this success coming for him.

What????

He was highly recruited out of high school and had a game tailored to the nba.

There was zero surprise he would do well.

I think the part of him playing 13 seasons in NFL with 6 pro bowls when being a 5th rounder . You would’ve thought a 1st rounder that was on the same LSU team as him would’ve had a career like that . (Marcus spears )
