Anyway, I agree that Alley is overrated. Not that he was no good, but he had 2 good games and all of a sudden everybody thought he was the best RB in LSU history. He was not. That is overrated.

he never got enough carries to put up monster season

but he average liked over 6 YPC that season with 10 TD's. And like 900 yards.

There was also a guy named Sharp who used to play during the Hallman years

jermaine sharp...think you're right about him transferring to southern.

La------Z, the kid could have been playing on Sundays. Transfered to SU and was MVP of the Bayou Classic. What a waste.

I'll go with Robert Toomer.

I still think Alley was overrated, but he did have the 2nd best season in the last 9 years going by YPC.

LSU Rushing Leaders
2000 - Toefield 675 yds, 165 carries, 4.09 avg.
2001 - Toefield 992 yds, 230 carries, 4.31 avg
2002 - Davis 931 yds, 193 carries, 4.82 avg
2003 - Vincent 1001 yds, 154 carries, 6.5 avg
2004 - Broussard 867 yds, 142 carries, 6.1 avg
2005 - Addai 911 yds, 187 carries, 4.87 avg
2006 - Hester 440 yds, 94 carries, 4.68 avg
2007 - Hester 1017 yds, 225 carries, 4.52 avg
2008 - Scott 1174 yds, 217 carries, 5.41 avg.

Broussard has the smallest sample of all of these guys and has the least amount of career yards of them all as well.

In his ability as a pure RB, I would go Toefield. Unlike Alley he was usually in good shape, unlike Justin Vincent his injuries did not seriously deviate his ability.

Toefield had good talent and poor running instincts, he should have never been a starting RB over Dom Davis, and I think their NFL careers showed that. Toefield was the bruiser back version of Keiland Williams.

of all the backs listed there, I think he was probably only better than Vincent and maybe Hester. He certainly had the worst career of any of them listed.

My bad I either copied the wrong statement to quote or can't read. I should have gone to Ole Miss.

And many of them had major injuries as well, so you really can't use that for argument.

well, yeah if you are not as good as Domanick Davis than you are the most overrated back in LSU history. And if you started over Joseph Addai when you were both healthy (and Addai had been in the system a year longer than you) and got over 6 yards a carry that year than you still are the most overrated back in history. This is all starting to become clear.

Next: most overrated defensive tackle in LSU history. Chad Lavalais. I mean the guy is not even as good as Glenn Dorsey or Booger McFarland. What a piece of shite.

again, wrong. over-rated does not equal under achieving. plus, he accomplished much as a freshman, need you be reminded.

Uh, right... the dude played 4 games then got kicked off of the team. There is alot more to being a good football player than talent.
