I said Harvey wasn't over rated you know that right?
Posted on 4/24/09 at 4:40 pm to 610man

We are on the same page then.

Kendall Cleveland
I would say the opposite, very underrated. He is mostly forgotten today, but without him Faulk and Tyler would have not had been nearly as successful his freshmen year. As good as Faulk and Tyler were for freshmen, they were still just freshmen, and Cleveland's dependability helped them immensely.
Cleveland just got burried behind Faulk and Mealey after that. Cleveland was still good enough to get a look in the NFL, despite having close to zero carries at the end of his LSU career. That says something.

quote:He'd take himself out of the game the first solid tackle he took, and he'd run scared the rest of the game.He was a better back than many, but he was not a dependable back, other than you could depend on him to avoid contact after he was stroked good the first time in evety game I can recall.
Harvey Williams

Toomer People were asking the "Were is he now ?" question while he was still on the LSU team.

Robert Davis, hands down! I remember one long run he broke against Bama and was caught from behind. Then never did anything again. Also, how do some on this board call H. Williams overrated? The guy was a first round draft choice, and played on some less than talented Tiger teams.

For what it's worth, that's why I started my first and only thread about the most underrated
RB's. I think that K.C. and R.M. were great, and underrated. I don't see how you (pl.) could consider them overrated.

I'm going to change it up a little bit. The most overated backfield: Faulk, Collins and Mealey.
Faulk was awesome, Collins was befor ehe got hurt and Mealey had just run all over Notre Dame. I remember seeing the three of them on magazine covers before the 1998 season. We were suppossed to have an unstoppable backfield in 98!
Instead, Collins gets kicked off the team, and despite a good offense, LSU goes 4-7.

Eric Ellington, came out of the Faust run factory at Moeller. He was suppose to be the connection to midwest recruiting for years to come. Neither his on field performance or the recruiting pipeline panned out. He did put forth effort though while wearing the Purple and Gold.
My second vote would be Terry Robiskie. The guy was great until he got hit and then went into a shell. Texas A&M knocked him down a few levels in Tiger Stadium one Saturday night.

Robert Davis hands down biggest disappointment.

they went to the title game in 2006 with casey fricking dick playing QB
And is that the same Casey Dick that kept making pass after pass to keep them in the game a couple of years ago against our vaunted D? I especially remember a pass to Hillis on 4th down he threw. And who threw the late TD pass late to win the game this past year? I'm glad the fricker's graduating.
Also, whose job is it to recruit a decent/good QB so you can take advantage of that great RB tandem Arky had those years? They still had a shite load coming back that year on D, OL, and they NEVER won the SEC. Squandered talent.

For me personally it would have to be:
1) Sammy "Bunny" Seamster from Minden. Saw him plow over people for two years before signing, then nothing.
2) Collins - Leesville. So much talent. So little discipline

Your red Bama loving arse!!! Hester was one of the best, he was responsible for many wins in his career. Keep off our board, anyway.

Hey, Washington. You can't wait for an arse kicking, is that right? You are so stoned and have a great imagination.

Might as well say Billy Cannon
