Most folks picked LSU to be 9-3 or 10-2 this season...why?

LSU finished right where most of us here on the rant figured they would finish with likely losses to bama and florida and one drop somewhere else during the season based off of our poor season last year, returning young quarterback and o-line and new defensive scheme.

Why are we all in an uproar over finishing right where most of us figured we would finish?

Let the rant begin!!!

Because you do not expect to struggle against
Washington
ULL
Mississippi State
LA Tech
Arkansas
Georgia

Most fans have no problem with a loss if the other team played better than LSU but that was not the case this year other than Florida.

Because we have eyes and we actually watched the games. There were numerous correctable mistakes that could have allowed us to be in serious contention for the west, if not the SEC and BCSNCG.

I thought we would be 10-2, but that was because I know who our coach is

Because if we where coached better we could be playing in the sec championship game.

1. Underachieving, wait - Inept, dysfunctional offense all season long.
2. Disaster in last minute against Ole Miss.

Because everyone expected Ole Piss and UGA to be much better than they were. Once we found out they were garbage people expected a better season. The way we lost to Ole Piss and struggling with lesser opponents and not taking one of UF or Bammers is what did it.

Because the team was outcoached against Washington, Miss State, La. Tech, and Ole Miss. Because the offense against Florida was putrid.

Sqeaking by teams that suck, terrible offensive playcalling and mass confusion with the offense, misuse of talent. If you look at the NCAA rankings, it will tell you the story.

I dunno...I though OM played better then LSU for most of that game and was pretty shocked that the Tigers were even in a position to win that one.

Had LSU not been in the position to win the consensus probably would have been that Ole Miss just dominated LSU and came to play. That Les did not have his players prepared for the game. The way that the game ended though totally blew everyones mind including analyst, coaches, media, and of course the fans.

OK I think I will.

I couldn't agree with every statement made more. Next year there will be no excuses. No "young quarterback" who is still learning, no "we've never experienced a 30 second drill and have learned how to tell time now" No other stupid excuses either. If Miles can't right the ship then I'm gonna have to jump off his band wagon too!

I picked 9-3 before the season started too, BUT:

106 national ranking Offense

Goal line stand to beat MSU

No Offense vs. FL

Ref fiasco at Bama

Coaching fiasco at Ole Miss

LSU's only true loss was FL, should've beaten Bama, and Ole Miss and playing in the SEC CG with a shot at the NC on the line.

ETA - and on the flip side,,,,this team could easily be 7-5 or 6-6 right now.

I'm back to taking a wait and see approach but the thing that had me up in arms was obviously the end of the Ole Miss game

The last minute of the game was badly bungled and I was shocked by the mistakes

I've moved on now and reserve judgment till I see how LSU plays in their bowl game and especially next year before deciding if 08/09 are trends downward or growing pains after the 2005-2007 run
