Clyde's dad said he spoke to that lady and someone she knew (can't remember who) had a terminal disease and she was hoping Clyde could sign something for her since she was a fan. Something along those lines. I think Clyde's dad said he told Clyde to go to the hospital and visit her. Someone posted the video here a few weeks back.

i heard, this but i wanted to see a follow up, just to confirm the lady's statement

What kid (and notice I used the word "kid") wouldn't want to meet his idol and get an autograph. Joe, I'm sure, had his idols that he would have died to get an autograph from when he was younger. I get the annoyance...but I'd like to think that if I ever got famous, I'd remember where I came from and how I used to idolize these guys. When you are famous and gifted, everybody else in their crappy little hum drum lives dreams of being you and doing what you do. You never know when just a smidgen of attention may brighten somebody's day. So, instead of complaining about it, I'd like to think I'd embrace it. (Of course that is easy to say since I haven't been mauled at an airport lately.) As for grown men with bags of helmets....frick those jerkoffs.

A friend told me that the order of wealth and fame combinations looks like this:

Best:
1. Rich and no one knows who you are.
2. Rich and famous.
3. Poor and no one knows who you are.
4. Poor and famous
5. Poor and notorious (O.J. Simpson, for example)

Right now, Joe is poor and famous. That's about to change. Unfortunately for Joe he can never attain the best spot.

Joe said he was fine with autograph for a kid but dudes are bringing sacks of mini helmets for him to autograph all of them. He blows those dudes off

I rarely get an autograph but if I do I make sure to have them personalize it to me (or my daughter/son) by name so they know that I'm not trying to sell it! Makes it nicer on display too, shows it wasn't just bought on ebay!

I only asked for autographs from one person. it was for CD's for each of my kids and nephews. it was from a friend, Black Sabbath's Paranoid album. I knew that he got calls for interviews most days and didn't want to bother him about it but did anyway because it was for them as a Christmas present.
