You say this
quote:
We have only seen Etsiah for a little over 3 quarters of play. That's not much of a body of work to make a prudent judgeme
Then this?
quote:
He seems to have the "It" factor. He appears to have the kind of skills that can bring you an SEC Championship.
That silliness, coupled with the poor grammar and spelling snafus, let me know not to take you seriously.
On a sidenote, I think Etling seemed to execute different screens much better, including changing his arm angle well on the quick screen in the middle of the line of scrimmage. He had nice pocket footwork, keeping his eyes downfield. He WILL force a few, and it is going to hurt us at some point.
Let's see how it goes before the stupid nicknames and SEC title talk. It's foolish.

QBs must be able to deal with adversity and lead. Sadly, this is an example of immaturity and poor leadership.

I SMELL JOSH BOOTY VS ROHAN DAVIES PART 2 IN THE WORKS.
Yep really smells like possible team split by end of year with half the team still defending HARRIS and the other half loving on ETLING

I don't agree. These young men want to win. You can be critical of Miles for a lot of things but he's a players coach and I don't see him letting this happen.

I agree we shouldn't be bashing Harris. He seems to be a good kid and he's going through a difficult time as a player. That being said I do not understand the people saying, "Miles isn't putting Harris in a position to succeed with this offense." I think its the exact opposite. You have one of the best running games in the nation last season and it looks to be pretty good this year. Anybody that goes to the games or watches carefully has seen the wide open WRs running around and Harris can't find them. When he does find them he usually misses with the throw. Last year I must have said 6-7 times in big games "man I wish he would have seen Fournette on the check down. He was wide open". I wish the kid all the best and if he gets back in I hope he plays well but his inability to work through his progressions to get to the open guy has always been his downfall.

He should be benched on that action alone

I totally agree. But this offense is going to change to make sure he has a better chance. Spread is coming.

That's why I don't get the fans that want Bobby Petrino.

A lot of that talk comes from the 2 WR routes off of play action that are almost universally going to be deep routes. That is a low risk, high reward play, but it is also a play with a low success rate. We don't do a great job of easing any QB into the game, particularly one who has obvious confidence issues.
This was our first called pass play of the season:
We roll a right-handed QB with known touch problems to his left. That is the point of the talk about putting someone in a position to succeed. We did the same to Etling too at times. PA, 7-step drops when the OL is having hell with the pass rush. Long-developing plays with goofy route trees. It's just a head scratcher at times.

Exactly, eitling sees his check down, he sees the wide open TE down the field.
There was this myth about not using the tes in the passing game. All of last year the tes were open and Harris rarely looked their way. Instead he decided to live and die by Dupre.

I'll say this. What doesn't kill you SHOULD makes you stronger. Criticism is a part of life. If he's that thin skinned, he's not the guy for the job. First thing Etling did on dropped pass is went and clapped and fired his guy up. Says a lot.
As for the scapegoat race card angle, there was nothing racist about pick six LEE. The kid simply threw a shite ton of pick six's. It was horrible. He got..........BOOED! But he came back and played great when he was needed. Harris has the potential to do the same.

This is not Madden buddy! When you're the quarterback at LSU and open your mouth like he does sometimes he should at least have the chest stand with this team no matter how embarrassed he is or how bad he feelsjust wondering have you ever played organized sports especially football that's definitely not a guy I would want leading my team when the tough gets going he shoots out now you can see why he turned himself into a basket case

Enough with the excuses.

Really bashing him for this perceived fault is silly IMO. I get it he's hurting. What it does show is why he doesn't remain calm and forgets his mechanics when he drops back. To much emotion the game isn't slowing down for him.

The first play of the season was most likely practiced 15-20 times at practice. The first plays are usually scripted. Harris practice that roll-out an throw a ton and still couldn't complete it. It's a pretty easy throw actually. Also what the hell is a goofy route tree? I would understand you saying "running goofy routes" but the route tree is just a tree of all the routes a team runs with their names. It's an easy way of learning routes.
