I was anti-piped in music until I went to the Swamp this year. It thought it was done really well and added to the game experience. It did pep up their fans when we were kicking the crap out of them. There are times when the doesn't play and it would ebe good for those times.

the reason the piped in music gets the other stadiums previously mentioned in this thread all pumped up is because those schools' bands will never be as great as TGBFTL! I personally do not like piped in music, especially when the band is not on their break or walking onto the field for pregame or halftime. I think those three times (pregame, halftime, and 3rd quarter break) should be the only times we hear piped in music and it most definitely should never EVER be justin beiber or miley cyrus!! Or that god-awful techno crap they play in the other stadiums...

Haha its funny to read how uptight people get about piped in music. Are you kidding me. You better not ask these people if we can wear Pro Combat jerseys or white helmets ever again cause then they will really freak the frick out. FWIW the piped in music at Auburn this year was the sole reason that place was rocking the entire game. Comparing LSU v Auburn to LSU v Bama they blew LSU out of the water crowd wise. The Bama game tried to get there but wasn't on the level of AU's crowd.

I have no problem with the Pro Combat gear or the white helmet, but piped-in music is garbage. This has nothing to do with tradition and everything to do with loving the sound of a good marching band.

Okay I think all of you are missing something here when you are comparing different stadium atmospheres:

First, I see alot of mention of South Carolina. South Carolina's stadium is probably rocking because they are having their BEST SEASON SINCE JOINING THE SEC. That proably has more to do with the crowd being pumped up then the piped in crap.

Secondly, Auburn is #2 in the nation with a future Heisman Trophy winner at QB. That probably has more to do with the crowd being pumped up then the piped in crap.

The other team I see mentioned several time is VaTech. They didn't even have a band until 1974. Sure that was 36 years ago, but that is a toddler compared to The Golden Band from Tigerland which was founded in 1893 and first appeared at halftime in 1924. So you can see that VaTech had other traditions that defined their atmosphere before their band come about.

Yes, I said tradition. Sorry guys, I am not saying that things can't and shouldn't change for the better for LSU football. But you cannot ignore the fact that College Football and the pagentry and Stadium atmosphere that surrounds the game are so steeped in tradition, that there are some things that will never change. For me, that means going to Tiger Stadium and getting goose bumps from great football and the great sounds from The Golden Band From Tigerland.

I used to be a traditionalist, but after going to LSU svAuburn and LSU Bama I am a believer. Jordan Hare was rocking the whole game as much as it pains me to say it. Tiger stadium was loud only in the 4 th quarter. I agree, we need a better DJ, but no need to eliminate TGBFTL all together.

I think most are in agreement that there needs to be more and better piped in music. But the band at halftime and throughout the game just not as much. No one wants to get rid of the band. But this is the same opinion players have had for awhile now too

Piped in music..I can take it or leave it.

But, any music played on LSU's sound system is absolutely embarrassing in contrast to fellow SEC schools..Tigerstadium sound is bush league..always has been..it is the Mississippi Valley State of all Major Div-1 PA systems!
