What are you talking about? There was no ref issues on the two long conversions in that game.
The bad call came vs Greedy in the last OT.

I made the simple statement that he’s making #1 money and has close to (if not #1) talent, and is putting out lower ranked defenses.
Arandas real big test will come vs UF. I have faith he will shut them down.
Chavis gave up a billion yards to Geno Smith in 2011 and people still consider that defense to be elite.

Y’all’s obsession with propping up Aranda is pathetic, and y’all did/do the same shite with Canada. Calling you out on BS has nothing to do with Orgeron.
Maybe it’s because the general consensus by the ACTUAL frickING EXPERTS WHO GET PAID TO EVALUATE COACHES is that they are both great coordinators. Maybe it’s because we realize that NO frickING DEFENSE WILL EVER BE CAPABLE OF SHUTTING DOWN EVERY OFFENSE THEY FACE.
Name me one coordinator better than Dave Aranda. I guarantee I can go back and find some games where their defenses didn’t shut down the opposing teams offense.

What number is Aranda on the field and what position does he play?
No coach is on the field and the players on our defense are good. At least 3 first round picks in the defensive backfield and a great group of line backers.
There are options for the defensive coordinator to use an aggressive attacking pressure defense or a prevent cover defense and Aranda and our coaching staff seem to prefer the cover prevent defense.
With our skill set my personal opinion is to use the pressure defense the entire game and if the big play happens so be it. I think the LSU staff this past week was more worried about the Texas QB running the ball and they tried to contain.
The big test will be Tua and he is a better runner and perhaps the best passer in college football right now. The only way we beat Bama is to out score them, Tua is that good

Advanced metrics? Why not just go by total defense like the rest of the college football world?

Wish to God there was some way for Aranda to critique you people at work. You know, tell you how you’re doing your job when he’s never actually done your job. LOL

I think we should all be able to agree that Aranda did a great job against Bama last year. The offense have him literally nothing.
I love that some little bitch... cough pirate king cough... downvotes straight facts

I don't know about that, Alabama gained almost 600 yards.

Aranda = Bo Pelini II IMHO
Once the OCs saw the D once, they figured a solution and there was not a version II. If our Off was not scoring so much he would really be exposed.

Last 6 games vs power 5 opponents.
Alabama 29
Arkansas 17
UCF 32
A&M 74
Texas 38
38 ppg average
First, that’s only 5 games, the 6th would be the State game where the defense gave up 3 points while setting up the only touchdown of the game by forcing a turnover and handing the offense the ball inside the 5.
Second, you’re including 7 OT possessions where the defense is put in a position where they have to force a turnover to keep the other team out of scoring position, which is ignorant.
Third, Burrow threw a pick 6 against UCF. They only scored 25 on offense.

And only got 29 points. With the offense doing literally nothing to help. Take a look at the frst half and tell me with a straight face that Aranda didn't give Tua fits.

Because I'm not a simpleton.
Advanced metrics like S&P+ do a far better job of isolating things the defense can actually control. They also pass the eye test - Mississippi State was #1 last year, and Alabama was #1 the previous two years.

They don’t understand that teams employ different offenses and a different risk profile in a 52-45 game than in a 17-10 game.

Also, fwiw, advanced metrics are far more kind to our offense too. They realize the defenses we play, the style, etc.
