In the right system this guy was going to be right there with Tebow as the best in the SEC in 08/09.
when he came in during the Va tech game, I thought to myself,

“wow. This guy is goooood.”

found this old Tom Lemming spreadsheet on the web. Covers 1990 to 2005 (see tabs at bottom). He had Booty over Manning.
thanks for the trip down memory lane....

Is it bad that I recognized at least 5 names on every tab? I'd see the name, and then hear it in Keith Jackson's voice

Dude, just delete this. Its pretty embarrassing for you

Mett was the #1 pro style QB when he signed with UGA, and #4 nationally, and you have him behind #35 Daniels and $75 Brandon Harris? WTF?

8. Joe Burrow - lowish 4 star, but at top college program. veteran, but no film on playing experience. I was higher on him personally and predicted he’d win a heisman if we’re being honest, but objectively this is where he belongs or possibly one higher. 9. Zach Mettenberger - similar to Joe B in terms of playing resume but earlier in eligibility and with a bit of a reputation issue.

burrow was rated higher than mett?

If JB doesn’t decide to follow his love of baseball and take the 1.6 out of high school, what a different start to his career, and that era of LSU football may have been?! Would that start have altered Peyton’s path in any way, from where he decided to go, and eventually being picked #1 in the draft? It’s been a long time shame we didn’t get to see it, so we’ll never know. I’m sure Peyton has always been happy about JB’s choice!

How many other qb's have you predicted to win the Heisman? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Of course Miles pretty much wasted his talent, even though he really wasn’t a QB

Please explain how Miles, wasted Russell's talent?

I don't think it affect's Peyton's arc.

He was never the premier pocket passer from a physical standpoint, his arm was merely "adequate". He never had the arm and release of, say, Jeff George. It was always about his knowledge of the game.

Booty was the better arm talent coming out of high school, Ryan Leaf was going into the draft.
