so looks like we will have our same outfield from this year,I wonder if they keep Stanfield in center or if they decide to let curiel take over like they eventually plan on doing?

Have to wait and see if Stanfield signs an undrafted contract.

who do you think that got drafted comes back? please tell me. if teams drafted a kid in a 20 round draft then they pretty much expect him to sign. its not the days of a shite load of rounds where they take flyers on guys

Top 10 rounds forget about it. They are gone.

Rounds 11-20 depending on bonus pool. The Tigers for example drafted a ton of HS and even one 5th year college senior in the top 10R. Therefore they should be able to spend over slot on Hamilton (R11).

Then guys like Stanny and Luis may sign as UDFAs

That 20K signing bonus next year would be the tits.

We’ve all talked about the fact that he’s not playing a premium position. If LSU beats the number the Pirates are willing to pay him this year, then a small bonus next year wouldn’t matter that much. It would still be more money at the end of the day.

I don’t expect Bear to be back, but it’s been rumored that he had a strong NIL deal and the Pirates aren’t known for being the best run franchise in the world.

Luis is out of eligibility. Don’t understand why Stanny would sign an as a free agent. Probably get more in NIL money and he could still sign after next season.

Well now that it’s over. Even though the top half of the freshman class got wiped out looks like we still got some really good ones coming. I don’t follow baseball recruiting much but doesn’t seem like we got a really big win like Schmidt or Curiel last year.

I think Curiel is in CF regardless of anything.

yeah maybe ,but i would think Stanfield is the better center fielder so why make a change unless you promised curiel something, which i doubt he had to do.

Since it wasn’t specified in the statement “if they got drafted they are gone”, some could be high schoolers or late round picks. LSU got Schmidt, Curiel and Arrambide just last year when many would have banked on them signing. So I think it is a joke to make matter of fact statements like that without having the entire picture and knowing each player’s motivation.

Stanfield was pretty god damn good outside of one weekend.

Curiel was really solid in LF but Stanfield wasn't a slouch.

All three of those players took their names out pre-draft like Serna and Ricken this year. LSU didn't have to worry about any of them signing.

Considering Jay has been really vocal about the MLB having a lot of money to work with, we are going to walk away with some elite baws. There are only 34 spots anyway.
