Never understood the leverage piece. If he goes from a 5th rounder to a 1st or 2nd rounder, he'll get paid. As a 1st or 2nd rounder, he would have more than one team interested in him. Supply and demand.

He won’t though. Seniors rarely get drafted high. Check out the article below. It’ll explain.

Gavin Dugas got drafted in the 6th round in 2023. His slot value was $357,000.
He signed for $20,000.
Seniors get absolutely shafted, it doesn’t matter how high they’re drafted.
MLB is offering the seniors shite money, knowing the alternative is being a car or insurance salesman or high school baseball coach.

There is a combine event for guys that miss it due to the CWS. You still have to be invited though.
