Kris Abrams-Draine is an NFL talent at CB and plays the majority of his snaps outside. He’s only allowed 49 yards and 1 TD while intercepting 3 passes on the season.

Luther Burden III is PFF’s top ranked WR in the nation. He plays nearly all of his snaps in the slot. He’s averaging 4.78 yards per route run and Missouri has a 148.5 passer rating when targeting him.

The center to left side of Missouri’s offensive line is elite, notably Center Connor Tollison and Left Tackle Javon Foster.

Brady Cook has 0 interceptions on the season with only 2 turnover worthy plays. The last 3 games he has had at least 340 passing yards while recording a total of 8 TDs in the air and 1 on the ground.

When digging in it seems their roster is way more talented than expected. Their offense is arguably better than Ole Miss so it may be another long day for the Tiger’s defense. Their defense is extremely weak in the middle so hopefully we can keep them on the field running the ball. Nabers plays a little less than half of his snaps in the slot. I expect this to increase this week while we ignore Abrams-Draine’s side of the field.

He was committed to us at one time. Can't remember what happened there.

This really worries me. The amount of times I’ve seen Harold Perkins lined up on a slot receiver is way too many.

I dont believe this one bit.

Ole Miss has at least played some decent teams and scored more than 40 points 3 times.

missouri cant even score 40 against south dakota.

Luther Burden is good, but lets no act like theyve played a bunch of defensive juggernauts and destroyed them.

There is zero argument to support this statement.

Only put up 35 vs FCS level South Dakota State

Only scored 23 vs Middle Tennessee State

Only scored 30 vs Kansas State

Only scored 34 vs Memphis

Only scored 38 vs Vandy

Ole Miss averages 42 points per game AFTER only scoring 10 against Bama. Mizzou has yet to score 40 points in ANY game vs not great competition.

They have some nice pieces on offense but they are not a high scoring unit like Ole Miss was.

He was listed as a 3 star Athlete, wanting to play WR. Decommitted from LSU. Committed to Ole Miss. Decommitted from Ole Miss. Finally, committed to Mizzou. Played WR his first season, transitioned to DB his second.

They don't have to have a better offense than Ole Miss to be dangerous to LSU. I predict 38 - 34, either way.

CEO didn’t want him. Said he was taking best 25 not first 25. Was a receiver coming out of high school before switching to cornerback.

I don't think anyone is arguing that they aren't dangerous to LSU but the notion that they are as good or better than Ole Miss is not true.

BUT they may have a better defense than OM which would be an equalizer.

Do we have a couple guys that need to do that? Or can do that?

Good write up, OP.

Mizzou has a slightly better passing efficiency, but Ole Miss has better RBs so I’d give the nod to OM offensively.

Two other players to mention:

TyRon Hopper is a senior linebacker that transferred from FLA a couple seasons ago. He’s really outstanding in pass rush but can get lost at times in coverage. Definitely a guy that flies around and a sure tackler, which will be key on Saturday since LSU has so many weapons.

Harrison Mevis, our kicker that has been inconsistent this season but can make from 60+. I think the game will be back and forth so it may come down to special teams at the end.

Hope for a competitive game and for those fans that visit Columbia, I trust you’ll have a good experience. Should be perfect Fall football weather and a decent turnout despite the early kickoff.

Their offense is good and they may give our defense hell, but Drink isn’t on the same fricking planet as Kiffin. Come on, man.

I mean…. Ole miss is 0/1 playing against an elite defense. This isn’t exactly the best analysis when considering who has a better offense. They ran up the score on Mercer, Georgia tech just got blasted by bowling green. They had 17 points against Tulane through 3 quarters. Grading and efficiency have Missouri just as good or better on offense, especially on the line.
