Just watched the highlights…. Good lord I don’t think I have seen a worse display of defense in my life. It’s amazing that game was as close as it was. Missed tackles, blown coverages, and low effort on defense made us look like a little league team. Go back an watch it if you want a little bit of a laugh at work this afternoon. Anything this year could be better than that.

Defense took the social distancing guidelines too seriously.

The offense had something like 21 or 24 points off 4 turnovers

Put this into consideration, the only team that put more points up against MSU than us was Alabama.

MSU only had three games last season that where they put up more than 24 points: us, Mizzou, and Tulsa.

That's totally on the defense.

Miss St QB shot to the top of the Heisman predictions and then was benched the next week(correct?).

Stingley sounded really confident on the Defense with his interview with Moscona

He played the next two games and threw 3 int's and 1 TD against Arkansas then 4 int's and zero TD's against Kentucky. In the Mizzou game, he went 0/2 passes and one resulted in an interception. He finished the season with 6 TD passes and 11 interceptions.

Needless to saw, he was humbled in the SEC. He had decent stats at Stanford:

SO: 58.8% comp, 1,573 yds, 14/4 TD/INT
JR: 65.1% comp, 3,540 yds, 29/11 TD/INT
SR: got hurt I believe

Shouldve won still. Not scoring from the 1 3x in a row

That day was a gambling day in hell for me

Yeah our defense was bad but our goal line offense was stout at the end

Mizzou’s RBs weren’t getting touched for 5 yards every time they carried the ball.

We had a dated system but 90% of defenses sucked because of lack of practice due to Covid.

We were there. It was miserable & I really couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

At seeing the 15 yards of separation their WRs had from our DBs I remember thinking it looked like walk-thru drills at spring practice. I wanted to text Pellini and tell him “no, this is a real game - they are supposed to run fast and actually try to cover and tackle!!”

How about the fumble that we recovered and they give the ball back to Mizzou who then hits a 50 yard field goal. Should have been our ball!!

4x. Just give it to Emery on a sweep and let him run to the corner of the Endzone.

Who on the Mizzou Defense is gonna catch him all 4 times?

I know it shouldn’t have come to this but it’s still valid.

Yesterday I watched the entire 40 minute replay of the Bama game from 2019. I was struck by how dominant our offensive line was. Bama rarely got pressure on Burrow unless they sent numbers, or occassionaly #24 would take a steep angle against Deculus and Dec would push him past Burrow who only had to take a half step up or back in order to dodge. And there were gigantic holes for Clyde. He was scooting through the line untouched most of the time. Of course, on about four runs he faked someone out of their jock.

It's amazing that line is still called average by many Tiger fans. I defy them to rewatch Bama 2019 and say that line wasn't outstanding.
