I go to MSU but was born in LA and a huge tiger fan but we will have to have good play from the QB position to win the game, period. MSU is pretty good up front with McPhee anchoring the D-Line and Chris White leading the linebackers. Plus, on the offensive side of things MSU has one of the faster receiving corps in the SEC, but they have the same problem we do with inconsistent QB play.

If JJ struggles in this one game Lee might have his coming out party.

If we throw for under a 100 yards, were in deep shite. Our backs arent going for 300 against Miss St.

To counter MSU's fast WRs we have an even faster secondary. PP7, Tyrann, Mo, Loston etc are as fast as anyone. The problem with State this year is they don't have that bell-cow back like in years past. This game will be close but I look/hope for the Tigers to pull away late and win by double digits.

I agree. I am much more nervous about this game than WVU. Hell, I am more worried about MSU than florida. not only do i think they have improved, but I can see everyone looking past them to next week.

By no means do i think MSU and Florida are equals, but we won't look past the gators.

That seem like a good prediction. I would be pleased with that.

Chris Relf is a gangly foal who plays quarterback as if he were blindfolded and immersed in a deep fog.

He makes JJ look brilliant.

Our defense is very good.

We're playing our home opener.

We will beat MSU by a comfortable margin.

We might, and still win 7-3.

The concern with MSU is from multiple fronts: (1) Mullen is a good coach and hungry for a defining win...he will have them ultra prepared, (2) They will have an extra day's rest and have also not had to play two road games to start the season...they will be well rested overall; and (3) they are simply due to beat LSU at some point...I believe the win streak is at or above 10 games now...even with the purtrid last decade that State has had, 10 years in the SEC means a team is due for a win.

This does not even place into consideration our QB struggles. Last year I was all about getting JL some playing time...right up to Bama and LaTech. Sadly, I don't think we fair any better with Lee than JJ. I do agree that getting him a couple series before the half (unless JJ is just on fire) might be the right thing to do however.

I don't see LSU covering the spread unless we get much better QB play.

I do expect a win, however.

You need to think about this game in terms of how the teams have performed this season to date, not about any past history of LSU wins. I expect this to be a very good SEC type football game with lots of defense and running. I think a 6-8 point vegas line is about right for the match-up.

Our special teams will dominate the game against State. Our D is too good for the cowgirls to score any significant points.

This may really MAY be a game where turnovers are the difference, with INTs being the key.
That, of course, and the short side option...

Our QB struggles aren't even in the same stratosphere as State's though. I wouldn't trade JJ for Relf.

Well, one thing for sure, we wont be overlooking them this year. I firmly believe they got our full attention last year.

I'm glad I'm going to watch my Mids play La Tech in Ruston.

I need a break from our LSU offense...it's offensive to me.

MSU doesn't have a QB, either. They have a "dual-threat" who is terribly inconsistent and inaccurate throwing the ball (Relf), and a redshirt freshman (Russell) who proved against Auburn that he's not ready to handle a big-time SEC defense - even at home (and LSU's D is much better than Auburn's).

LSU will win this game. Book it.
