Misconception on the buyout

I keep reading a bunch of people stating that LSU has to wait a year to fire O if it comes to that. Their reasoning is that LSU just can’t afford the ridiculous buyout for Orgeron.
A couple of things to think about:
1) if O is fired prior to the end of the calendar year, say Dec 1st, he will be owed roughly $9 million. If next year it’ll drop about $3 million or so.
2) lost revenue next year alone may be significantly greater than that difference in the buyout. Between ticket values dropping, lost concessions revenue and merchandise sales, football could easily lose $5 million plus next year if O is retained and LSU goes 3-9 to 5-7 this season.
In reality, all that would be happening would cost LSU more and provide another year of damage to the program.
Reality is that if this team continues to play the way they have the last 3 weeks, it would be negligent from a business standpoint not to fire Orgeron and Alleva at seasons end.

How many times will this be said with slightly different words this year? It's already getting close to triple digits.

The cost of no warm butts in the seat is far greater than 12M buyout.

None of that takes into account the price of new football coach.
Hell, let's hire a lot of em. Maybe Sexton will give us a discounted rate on his fee if we take a half dozen or so of his clients and put em on payroll. Then we can fire more of em and have a room full of guys getting paid millions NOT to coach at LSU.
What a freakin shiite-show!!!

They'll give him year 2. But I expect 7-5 at best next year. Losses to Miami, bama, auburn, uga, and one of the toss ups. He will be fired after that.

Coach O is not being fired for the problems left behind by his predecessor. He will coach at LSU for as long as he wants to.
We're not having a coaching problem. Dave Aranda and Matt Canada didn't suddenly forget how to coach. Our problems are because the replacement players for last year's players that moved on aren't remotely as good as the players they replaced and that is a recruiting problem.
Meanwhile, you can't blame a recruiting problem on a head coach who has been a head coach for under a year, unless you are a retard.

But they had no effort, and that is squarely on coaching. Effort alone would have won this game.

So Mississippi State and Troy both have more talented rosters than LSU? lol.

This is the most delusional post I think I've ever seen on the tRant.

The problem is we gave Aranda and Canada massive assistant contracts as well. A new coach migh5 want to pick his own coordinators. I could see based on the body of their work someone being okay with keeping Aranda. I am not so sure about Canada.
Putting aside whether all the motion works, I found that the offensive coordnator for Troy had better designed plays at critical times. We rarely appeared to fool Troy at all with our play calling.
Canada has had some good years with other teams, so it’s hard to understand why we really don’t see that much creativity in our plays. I don’t consider all the motion creative and I d9nt see the offense being up tempo. Motion was costing us precious seconds on the clock on some third and fourth quarter drives.

So what exactly is the point of even having a head coach if only the players and coordinators determine the outcome?
Also we lost to Troy. Our backups backups can more then handle them

Well when you take into account that we had our best defensive player and defensive captain sitting out, then on those two nights they obviously were better than us.
Last season we lost seven players off of defense to the NFL, and all of them made a team in one capacity or another with several of them starting. Thus, all those players had to be replaced and they were replaced. However, the replacements aren't anywhere nearly as good as the players they replaced, and that constitutes a recruiting problem, as opposed to a coaching problem. Meanwhile, you can't blame a recruiting problem on a head coach who has been the head coach for less than a year, unless you are a retard.
