re: Million Dollar Question: Can LSU run on Bama?

Is their D any better compared to 2012 or 2014? I think it is a given their D will always be stout, but even with our shitty offense in 2012 and 2014 we had the lead in the final minute of the game.....regardless of all the questionable decisions and the endless what ifs--the fact remains our shitty offense managed to have the lead in the final 90-seconds.....the D faltered when it was needed.
I really like our chances. BH doesn't need to light it up, but he does need to be solid and accurate enough to complete that 5 yard pass to continue drives....we lost too many games because we could not continue drives to eat clock.

Can LSU run on Bama?
Just asking for thoughts...

You're better than using the transitive property... Unless you want to discuss uf vs ole miss and subsequently lsu v uf and Bama v ole miss.
Alabama did MUCH better against Tenn and so far, it looks like Alabama's defense is on a completely different planet than UF's.

LSU can run on anyone. LSU can run on some NFL defenses. Next question.
As Lee Corso would say "not so fast"....

LSU could run on San Diego or Cleveland - 5 yards per carry.
I stand by it.

Yes. The real question is can LSU stop Bamas passing? Kitten uses creative formations to create mismatches.
1st downs gained by run vs pass
2015
Lsu 97 rushing 41 passing
Bama 83 rushing 81 passing
2014
lsu 145 rushing 81 passing
bama 142 rushing 162 passing ...

Without a doubt LSU can run the ball on Bama. Can LSU not blow coverages and leave them easy wide open points out of the pass game? I dont know, so far they have busted coverages at least once or twice a game. LSU will run on Bama better than Bama will run on LSU. That in itself doesnt mean we win the game. I just want to win, dont care how it happens.

I think Uncle Luke hit the nail on the head. Jake Coker has thrown 6 INT's in 4 SEC games this year. Brandon Harris has thrown zero. If LSU can eliminate the big plays and cover well there will be opportunities for turnovers with Coker's decision making. In a game that appears to be this tight I don't think Saban can afford the over on the 1.5 INT's per game and expect to win.

I think if we hit a jet sweep or something to the outside early it'll really make a big difference. Seemed to me that's how UT was getting yards. Sweeps and then come back with read option getting good gains with both plays.
Short crossing routes under the safeties was pretty successful for them also

Tongue in cheek here, but ole miss beat Alabama on the road. What makes bama the measuring stick?
Posted on 10/26/15 at 1:36 pm to GA Tiger
Yes. The question that should be asked is will Les and Cam call the game too tight?
Posted on 10/26/15 at 1:36 pm to GA Tiger
They can and will run on them. Bama has the best chance to slow them down, but LF and our O-line will still eat.

sustain a few drives early hopefully we can make their arse quit
I haven't seen them quit yet this year. They seem to fight until the end. We will need to score first half points because their D seems to get stingy in the second half. Should be a great game, but i hope LSU blows their doors off.

We'll been able to do it the past 3 years so yes I believe so.

Bama had 5 turnovers.

If they try nine in the box like WKU, we could kill them with play action and roll outs.

You must be smoking the really good stuff.
Harris can throw well enough to keep college defenses semi-honest. But an NFL team would just blanket receivers man-to-man, load the box and laugh.

They will likely try to make Harris beat them which he can and will. Fournette will have a night like Florida which will be down by his standards but still 120+ total yards.
I predict a lot of passes out of the backfield vs bama.
