You're right, they shouldn't even bother with practice until they can beat Bama.

I thought they weren't doing this dumb drill anymore. Can't wait till fall camp starts and we get the daily big cat splooge fest because a tight end stood up a linebacker.

Washington and Smith are both receiving TEs. Miles is pushing them strengthen their blocking. I wish he would put the ball in their hands more instead of trying to turn them into Dillon Gordon.

Then again if they can block and catch that gets them on the field because if they suck at blocking and are only used in the rare event of a pass attempt to them then it's a tell on your offense.

never said they shouldn't learn to block. What I am pointing at is Miles obsesses with skill position players blocking. Which is due in part to that bull shite offense he tries to run constantly

Well a TE caught a pass in every game last season. And some they had multiple. They get thrown to multiple times a game, and guess what? They don't do a good job at catching it or Harris over throws them and gets them lit up and injured.

You know at some point the players just need to go out there and make plays.

And let's all just ignore the fact Les coached the most productive TE in the history of the program.

Unfortunately this "fire" in the Big Cat doesn't translate to well when we play Bama and Arkansas..

So you are saying we didn't get much production in the passing game from the two tight ends that are better blockers than receivers.

Did you watch football pre Les Miles?

Robert Royal is the most productive TE in the history of the program.

Yes because teams haven't stacking the fricking box when we trot Dillon Gordon out on the field.

Now you're mad because you look like an idiot. You're really having a rough go of it today.

Just an FYI one of the hallmarks of putting kids offensively to the next level is learning to block. Saban did that here with guys like Clayton and devery Henderson. Two of their biggest compliments in scouting were blocking abilities. It's 50% of the game on offense

Here we geaux....

Nine pages on a fracking Big Cat Drill.

Yet so-called "Tiger fans" stop watching an LSU-Arky game midway through the second quarter.

ETA: I'm convinced there is a contingent of LSU fans who are more interested in Big Cat Drills than an actual game.

Like our running backs.

It doesn't matter. Les will put in who he thinks is his best blocking tight end, then switch to his best catching tight end when he want to throw there. Doesn't matter how much the "catching tight end" learns to block or the "blocking tight end" can catch.

He used to do this with the QB for crying out loud.

Greg Olsen came out of Miami being known for his receiving abilities. As his career went on, he learned to block. Now he is a top 5 tight end because of this.

Yes, if Bama walks a linebacker to the line, we should leave him unblocked so that Smith can go run a route, BH says "thanks Coach Hornets"

Yea because this is not already happening with our "blocking" TEs
