Why don't you tell that to the people at Fox Sports Houston who wrote the headline.

Speculation is not factual,” said Miles in response to the reports that he is one of Michigan’s top candidates. “The only thing I can say to you is my focus is complete. We’re preparing to play a great A&M team. That’s my want and desire.

Yo man -- quash and squash have overlapping meanings and are derived from the same French root. However, quash is most often a legal term as in the quashing of subpoenas, appeals etc. But it is perfectly idiomatically correct to say 'squash a rumor', insufferable moron.

Miles did not say he wouldn't go to Michigan. Les Miles has always wanted that job and will likely take it this time. Miles is gone to Michigan. Mark it!

How often does your dream job come around twice in a short period of time. Les Miles is one of the luckiest men in coaching.

and for the OP....Miles did not "squash" talk of moving to UM with that statement

The op's title just quotes the title of the article. Y'all should take it up with Shea. He wrote the article.

Anyone can squash, but it takes a fine tuned legal mind to quash.

That was downright cryptic. He's definitely headed to Ann Arbor if he's offered the job.

Thanks for nipping that in the BUTT! The last thing we need is bad GRAMMER run A MUCK.

I doubt that Miles leaves, BTW, but he certainly didn't close the door on Michigan with those comments.

Exactly. He's in the same situation as former Kansas basketball coach Roy Williams. The first time North Carolina sent for him, he turned them down. The second time, he said he couldn't say no to mama twice. Even the three year time gap is the same.

why didn't he say "i will be the head coach at lsu" again, and tell everyone to have a great day?

He will leave. I mean come on. The guy has won a shitload of games at LSU and gets treated like shite. Ya SEE AT Mich and ANY big Ten School, The goal at the start of the year is to get to the Rose Bowl. BUT AT LSU nothing but winning a NC is not good enough. I can see where Les Might jump on this.

He's earned it IMO. I'll be sad to see him go.
