I hate to say this, but the bizarre demeanor of that team points to a very dark rift .......if the players engaged in mutinous behavior, they are guilty of one of the worst team sins.

I have never sensed this big a disturbance in the force....

Told my wife in the first quarter something wasn't right. Didn't even look like the same team out there.

Seeing you say this means something. I don't know where the rumors end and the truth starts, but something happened with this team the week before the game. I'm really hoping that I'm wrong and it was just that frustrations took over during the game, and that's when the bickering starting, but if I find out that something happened before the team even took the field then I might just throw up. That means that LSU never had a chance because of a rift between the team. It's a shame that this year's team was so awesome for so long and then when they got to the end it all imploded.

I've often reached the same conclusion about your posts.

But, on the plus side, you do have a pretty cool sig picture.

agreed. It is not and never should be up to the players as to who gets to play the other positions. If true shame on those who did.

Nope. J Lee did everything he was asked to do. Stop letting miles off the hook for his decision making by blaming J Lee.

RP was a frequent guest in the doghouse in '07 and frequently was let out to play.

No way in hell JL did anything worse than RP. Besides, the players already said JL was part of the gameplan and expected him to play so your little theory is completely irrational.

Geesh.

Like what? Get arrested and charged with a felony? It's not like Miles hasn't looked the other way before.

Even still, two words, Zach Mettenberger. It was Les Miles job to have him ready to play. You can't expect 5 star receivers to be happy getting 3 passes thrown to them in a game. You can't expect 5 star receivers to be happy with 30 passing yards in a game (UGA).

If so, it makes Miles look that much worse. He fostered the implosion.

People have been making shite up for over a month to try to justify what they have been seeing. None of them know a damn thing.

I think this story about the mutiny is either now on an email or blog. Each time I read it it's more detailed and some timelines change. I call BS. I hate that Les never pulled JJ, but it's stubbornness here. He kept waiting and waiting for Godot.

The mutiny is a fable IMO. Sure to become legend and defacto memory by all of Louisisana if Les doesn't explain some shite. If I were his PR person, I'd do a press release and move on

While I agree that a player mutiny if it did occur would be disastrous again if it did occur.

However if the players were to the point where they had reached complete frustration with JJ to the point they could not see why he was still playing and felt that they had to take it to Miles and he ignored/shut them up it seems to point to a serious player doubt in Miles and his judgement and perceived affection for JJ!

Might be akin to the alleged blowup Tolliver had last year when he supposedly asked why the other players had to earn their position and not JJ!

Then why keep just one in there? The bottom line is RS approached Miles over a week ago and wanted a change. His #s were way way down since JJ was back. The entire OL agreeed. Miles decided against the change and words were exchanged. Stud got into it with Miles closer to the game. Big deal happened between players before game and at half there was pushing but no punches over the topic. Miles was "blackmailed" by a group of players. THats why it looks/seems/smells so awkward that Miles wouldn't make the move. He has lost much control over the locker room from the story told.

Thats why the shocker came out that RS is going pro, yeah right, he was pushed out basically. Thats also why he got in 3 plays! The greater part of the team wanted JLee and so goes the distracted play by the offense.

Jeeze. I certainly hope not. I'd hate to think that any players on a 13-0 team with a shot at the national championship and going down as one of the best teams ever would decide that they should be offensive co-ordinators, play callers and personnel evaluators and get so bent out of shape about it that they let it distract their play.

Remember RS10 tweeted:

"I can't wait to sit down on 30 for 30 and talk about this season to America y'all don't even know half of the stuff that happens this year??"

on Dec 8, 2011.

Wonder if this was related somehow

Hmmm the point is that players on the team know when the team is not working well. RS actually did what he is supposed to do as a leader on the team, Miles let him and others down. Suggesting players are being armchair coordinators because they want something better than 30 yds passing a game is silly. Anyone watching football recognized the trend in the last few games of stagnant and unimaginative offense. Players wanting to be better and improve are to be celebrated not scorned.

Miles lost the team and no FBS coach worth his salt should ever have that happen. Especially not with the warning signs sent to him. Asleep at the wheel comes to mind.

*If* players were approaching Miles about Jarrett Lee starting/playing more, do you think that maybe Miles and coaching staff included some plays/packages for Jarrett Lee in the game preparation in order to keep the team engaged?

Did he really? I am actually starting to think this team did fall apart before the NCG. Definitely would explain the demeanor, and the product on the field.

so what you are saying is that a coach should let his players decide who plays and such. Wouldn't that in and of itself be losing control of the team.

Players that are leaders can surely make suggestions but they understand the coach has final say and they promptly put there gear on and go to work.

If RR was pissed that his numbers were down, why not stay? With a passing QB waiting in the wings, his numbers could vastly improve next season, thus raising his draft stock for 2013.
