Would have been great if he had been given the chance to improve. The early games were a great opportunity but instead he gets thrown out against Auburn, at Auburn, for his first start and then expected to be good. The proof was Miles saying he would play him each week after that and then never doing it. We will never know, but judging by the JJ/Lee debacle it seems a fair assessment in saying Miles pulled the kid too fast and went with mediocre/steady, feels like more of his comfort zone.
"Harris was over his head, and pissed away opportunities to improve."

What opportunities? Mop up in cupcake OOC games, first start @ Auburn (vets have trouble there). AJ has been screwing up all year and Harris had to save his bacon before he lost to NM State with a negative qb rating no less. One qb was given every opportunity to improve another wasn't. AJ never improved though.
Hard to see Harris getting starts next year, you already hear the party line of experience. Hope Miles is serious when he says the position is open but then again he has been saying Harris would play some for two months now and nothing. *shrugs* After all Harris did better last spring and during fall camp but never got the chance to develop like AJ, seems Miles has made up his mind. Mediocrity at qb, the second coming of JJ.
Adapt!!! Overcome!!! Persevere!!!

You have a newer smartphone with a good browser then you can. I have watched a basketball game this year on my smartphone by logging into the geauxzone.
The worst experience I had on gameday has to be the Miami game in '88. Not only did we literally had a hurricane in the stadium and on the field but our flask was discovered on the way into stadium and that friend was left outside. Sucked all the way around, horrendous game, poor results, wet, miserable, cold, and no alcohol.
I think alot of support Lee got came from his overcoming his past on the field. Most fans before the Oregon game were worried about having Lee under center. Questions were could LSU survive with Lee and how this will affect LSU's potential for the season. When came out and played well fans were surprised and ecstatic that there was a QB that has improved since his freshman year. After watching the same inconsistent offense do the same things and little improvement at QB, but some say regression. Lee epitomized what fans had wanted to see from JJ, mastering his craft and improvement as a QB.

When they got it from Lee and were winning and then Miles started inserting JJ with the same old tired play style and no improvement the fans could see this coming a mile away. You always hoped that it wouldn't happen or even be such a colossal failure on the big stage but it was always there. When fans noticed that JJ stayed in despite mistakes and the improved Lee got benched after one then the tide really turned. After the Ark game, and seniors last game, Lee got to kneel at the end, yet when questioned about this Miles said it was JJ's last game in Tiger Stadium in that uniform. Well it was Lee's too and no acknowledgement made him seem more kicked to the curb than ever and fans felt for him. One first down against GA and 28 total first half yards, still no Lee. Fans could see the stubbornness and arrogance of Miles in the JJ and Lee debate. Didn't like it.

Once the NCG happened it opened the floodgates for criticism and the "I told you sos" and the "I knew it" crowd. Miles brought it on himself, there were warnings all along people felt Lee was getting shafted and that his improvement and hard work didn't matter. Perception was that JJ had the golden ticket and the improvement exhibited by Lee was ignored and trifled. People related and sympathized with Lee and every slight, real or imagined by Miles to him was felt and resented by many.

My 2 cents anyway, blow it up if you want.
Lol, its much easier game planning for a qb that is one dimensional and not much of a passer. A big difference was having a qb running an offense that was more multi than read option left read option right. Saban knew JJ was going the whole game, first time around not so much. Bama played great on the 9th but face it the game plan for Bama was not that hard to devise.
Doesn't give him the right to lie. No longer does he get unquestioned loyalty. Some of you are more sheeple than people and swallow any and everything. Football is a team game on the field, how much of this success is the players but you credit the coach. They all work together, that is until one gets too stubborn for his or anyone elses good.
CLM lost a lot of people and supporters this year. His coddling of JJ and his shite on others leaves alot of rancor especially with the results. Those of you who want to talk about success, 9-0 Lee compared to 3-1 JJ.

Continuing to bury your heads in the sand will not help anyone. Poor coaching failed to recognize the trends of this offense and how one dimensional JJ is and how this makes him easy to game plan against. Especially to Saban. The crows came home to roost last monday but apparently the sight and smell of the shite doesn't sink into that stubborn head.
Unfortunately this was more canned BS blah blah blah from the coach. PR and damage control instead of honesty, there goes any last vestiges of respect I had for the man. Says we are gonna throw more next, where have I heard that before, seeing is believing coach. You have lost the trust.
Well lets hope this is the good news we need and the start of a recovery from the NC nightmare.

I agree about Collins, after the Perrilloux debacle any extra coddling (begging) to these athletes leads to headaches and heartaches. I bet Tressel and OSu are wondering if Pryor was really worth it.
Its nice that Gordy categorically denies the rumors but what does it really mean. Was he really with the team from 3Pm and the last to leave at night? Really? We know that how? Whether we believe him or not changes nothing. The team played extremely poorly and with no enthusiasm, that much we can agree on. Coupled with the lack of vision in the game plan and the seemingly unwillingness to adapt to the game leaves alot to interpretation.

Gordy does seem to ignore the tweets by RS and the mass exodus from the WR corps, coach and all. There are some things that are unexplained and won't be by the usual just trust me BS. RS hinted at larger things and Bobby Hebert has suggested there is more to this story on national radio tour. If Gordy wants to continue pushing this line of shill go right ahead its his reputation.
You know the rumors may or may not be true, we have no real way of knowing what really went on. But From my point of view the LSU team on Monday provided enough proof something was not right in the teams demeanor that it gives some theories a little cred. Proof in 21-0, five first downs for the game, less than 100 yds total offense for the game, and a team playing without its customary passion from the first kick. Something was clearly not right in those kid's heads.

Coupled with the seemingly mass exodus of players that were central to some rumors. Its just the things that make you go hmmmm.
I call damage control, spin effects in full deployment. :violin:
OK, thanks I was just a little confused on why the big deal. Miller's scholly would still be there in the fall like everyone else's. Nothing stopping him from coming to school early, there are all sorts of grants and such to defray costs. Sounds more like this reason is being used as an excuse, to either cover bruised egos or a mutual parting of ways.
Don't scholarships follow the academic year? That would mean a scholarship for the year begins in the first semester which begins in August. The JL scholarship only would hold him from enrolling early, this spring semester and not affect the scholarship for next year beginning in Aug 2012. If Miles told this kid what is being rumored then you got to wonder what Miles is up to or did he really want the kid to come here.

So you are suggesting that 9 of the wins started by JL mean nothing to support the last four? Ignoring a problem doesn't solve it.

So your answer is 13-0 and it means Miles should ignore anything that anyone else has to say. Regardless of the outcome. Heres an analogy to help understand. You know a race car driver that reaches the top speed on the track only to ignore the wall flying up in his face doesn't accomplish much beyond crashing spectacularly.

13-0 also means Miles ignored a big part of what built that record.

so what you are saying is that a coach should let his players decide who plays and such. Wouldn't that in and of itself be losing control of the team.

Players that are leaders can surely make suggestions but they understand the coach has final say and they promptly put there gear on and go to work.

Really, did I say that! Did I miss a hidden meaning somewhere? What I mean is that players have approached Miles before and repeatedly, that is not suggesting a fly by night mentality. Players that are leaders should not be expected to continue to have their fellow players come to them and then be ignored by coaches or anyone else. That in itself makes a sham of the leadership process and council.

Point is Miles had plenty of warning that the team was fracturing over the QB and offense. He choose poorly!

Hmmm the point is that players on the team know when the team is not working well. RS actually did what he is supposed to do as a leader on the team, Miles let him and others down. Suggesting players are being armchair coordinators because they want something better than 30 yds passing a game is silly. Anyone watching football recognized the trend in the last few games of stagnant and unimaginative offense. Players wanting to be better and improve are to be celebrated not scorned.

Miles lost the team and no FBS coach worth his salt should ever have that happen. Especially not with the warning signs sent to him. Asleep at the wheel comes to mind.
