A coaching buffoon. Simple as that. He wasted so much opportunity at LSU. Inexcusable.

frick. LSU does not need an energized Les at a school like texas or Tennessee.

Love Miles, but this thought process should have begun 5 years ago.

We are still running the same offense, it was just his inability to leave it the frick alone. .

He sounds borderline delusional.

I'm telling you guys...when he gets hired as Baylor's head coach, I'm not gonna say I told ya so but...

Miles spends his days in a condo that doubles as a makeshift office three blocks from his old office on campus. He's been studying film, including the dynamic offenses of Baylor, Tulsa and Western Michigan. He's focused on evaluating young coaches and coordinators to help put together his next staff. And Miles will be heading to a handful of NFL facilities the next few weeks to continue gathering strategy and ideas.
quote:
The energy from Miles surged through the phone in a lengthy interview Monday night. He said he's open to evolving on offense, would focus even more on quarterback development in his next stop and stressed that he's been thrilled that LSU has won three consecutive games since his dismissal. "I've watched every snap on TV," Miles said. "Rooting like hell."
only after he's fired does he choose to do this.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Based on his words, Miles was ready to leave Baton Rouge well before he was fired. I know he cried on TV when speaking about Baton Rouge, all for show.
Once he realized he got paid weather he got fired or not, all he had to do was stick to his old school guns and let the cards play themselves out. Now he is free to go with 4.3 million a year of Tiger Nation's money.
So now he is going to change his coaching philosophy? Real character. Read between the lines from time to time people.
He will find another job, surely there is someones coat tails he can jump on for another free ride. Go luck to you coach.

He will say what he needs to in order to get a job then revert back to his Big 10 style.
I would see him taking some mid-level B12 job before anything in the B10. Imagine a squeaky clean guy like Miles is exactly what a program like Baylor needs right now.

And so will that dark cloak draped over an LSU offense that coach Les Miles has insisted, since a drama-filled November, will change. He even made a commitment to his boss, athletic director Joe Alleva, to change his run-heavy system. “Les has committed to me that he understands there has to be some changes made,” Alleva said in December, in the same news conference in which he admitted to looking at “options” and making “inquiries” regarding a potential new football coach. Miles spent the offseason preaching change. Some would say he took action, too. The program fired receivers coach Tony Ball in February, hiring former Auburn quarterback and then-Auburn assistant Dameyune Craig, giving him influence on the offense and free reign with quarterback Brandon Harris. Craig has worked for offensive gurus like Jimbo Fisher at Florida State and Gus Malzahn at Auburn. Maybe he's sprinkled in some new X's and O's. Two months before his hire, the Tigers began to change. During bowl practice, LSU “tweaked” and “re-geared” its offense ahead of what eventually was a romping bowl win over Texas Tech. The Tigers set season highs for points and yards in that 56-27 Texas Bowl victory. Cameron told The Advocate during an interview in the spring what exactly changed during bowl practice. The Tigers no longer relegated their walk-throughs to the run game like they used to, but walked through the passing game as well.

Meanwhile, Miles and his staff spent January and February, the coach said, watching tape of successful spread offenses, hoping to implement parts of those schemes into their game plan. In spring practice, the Tigers focused on passing like never before, Miles and players say, intensely working on a unit that’s struggled so much in the past two years.

Miles booted reporters from camp after just the third day, the earliest for that to happen in years. Starting the second day of camp, reporters could not video a portion of pass-catching segments and, eventually, were not allowed to video anything on the offensive practice field.

A part of me believes he had a chance to change but wouldn't switch qb's. Harris wasn't capable of letting any offense get going. I'm speaking for this season only.

He's a great guy,
I think this is highly overrated. I am not sure how fair he was to our players.
He sucked the joy out of Tiger football with his antiquated approach to offense and game management. He was given the opportunity to change (evolve) and he basically gave it lip service, virtually telling everyone to GFY because he was going to do it his way.
Les will need to land somewhere that has the inherent recruiting advantages he was afforded at LSU.

Les speak
After your typical loss or squeaker win because we ran the ball into the middle of a 8 man front for 4 quarters.
"certainly there is a want to throw and catch and be more multiple, we just did not see that opportunity in this game and if we had executed better in the passing game the desire to score more would have been realized"
Doesn't it go something like that. Final LSU 13 somebody else 10. The 13 came in the first quarter and we held on.
