Uh, does this sound anything like the Miles we know from an unnerving eternity of interviews and archaic play...or more like a prepared response written by an agent?

Uhhhh no. He did "this" every year at LSU. It's all just talk.

Here is what you need to know about Miles's promises.
After the loss to Arkansas, he was told it needs to be better or he'll be fired.
We played probably our sloppiest worst game of the season against Ole Miss. Blew through the timeouts in the first quarter. Penalty after penalty. Then the last series where we frick up a handoff after a timeout.
He survives. He promises changes after saying "I'm not sure, at this point, I know how to fix it."
His first game this season, the first half is the Les Miles greatest hits album of frickery. Three runs, toss dive, short-side option, one on short D&D into the teeth of the defense. No first downs and fails to get 70 yards in the first half for his 8th time in his career.
Against State, mismanages two-minute drill before half. Coasts to a near loss against a State team that struggles against its nonconference patsies.
Auburn game. Play calling is atrocious. Penalty after penalty. Third and short in the most crucial play of the game, calls timeout, runs into the teeth of the defense and settles for a field goal. Grossly mismanages the clock.
Needless to say, I don't believe him.

Wow this is just sad. Miles sounds pathetic.

I hope he lands something sooner than later. Saves LSU a lot of $ for his buyout. The fact that he said the same things before this season then didn't do a damn thing different undermine his message IMO. But, there are plenty of schools who would love to have a coach with a MNC.

To quote my Pappy - "He's a day late and a dollar short."

the you know who's will say that it is mighty classy of Les to be proactive with his job search so that his buyout from LSU could be reduced.

All of you are kidding yourselves.
Les just needs to hire an OC. He has proven he can run a top program. Every school other than Ohio state and bama would kill for LSUs record over the past 11 years.
I say texas because we go head to head for recruits with them and any top program in the south.
Sorry, but we don't want that.

you are acting like LSU hamstrung Les into hiring an OC that they wanted. No, Les hired an OC that he could control and wouldn't bat an eyelash to Les's demands on offense.
Why do you suppose people are so skeptical about Les's ability to change on offense? it's because in the most pivotal season of his tenure, he freaking refused to do so.
He had every chance to can Cameron last year and go after a top flight OC.
he wants to play ball control offense in an era that is everything but.

Sorry, but you are an idiot for actually thinking Les Miles is actually going to change. He lies man.. He lied to LSU and he will lie and feed any university that bullshite so they will hire him. Then it will be toss dive city.

So it's not a coincidence that the team played it's worst game after it was leaked he was fired?
And Les never once. I mean never Said he would change publicly. They said they would talk and visit with other coaches. He has always said it was execution. And it was, the scheme is no diff today than it was 5 years ago.

This is just what he'll put on his resume. Just get your foot in the door and cash a check.

You sound upset
ETA: also, lol at the idea of Les changing

And he was fired. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom.
Sometimes you have to fail. Saban failed, and look at him now.
You are right he had every chance to can Cameron. But the board and Alleva extended his fricking contract. The same guts your are putting your faith in to find the next coach.

I would crawl over broken glass for Texas to hire les miles.

I still don't want him recruiting against LSU. I don't really care what offense he runs at the next school. That's not the point.

They played their worst in his highest stake game where he needed to win or he would be fired. That's a pretty sad commentary on his coaching ability.

You couldn't be more wrong.

And so will that dark cloak draped over an LSU offense that coach Les Miles has insisted, since a drama-filled November, will change. He even made a commitment to his boss, athletic director Joe Alleva, to change his run-heavy system.
