Also, I don't see that big a porblem with him eating those carries early in the season and Hilliard being more fresh for the back end of the schedule.

as if Miles is that clever

We should have Hilliard as the feature guy, Ford the speed back, Blue in his same role, and Ware getting a few short yardage carries and being the 3rd down back with his great hands.

So you have never watched the Tigers play before. Blue can take it to the house any play.

You speak ill of Ware, but I showed you that last season he averaged 4.4 ypc in the month of November and had 6 TD's on 2nd down. That is productive, regardless of what you say. Also, in regards to Blue, so what? Just because we use a RB by committee approach doesn't mean that they can be ineffective against quality opponents at meaningful times in a given game.

if he saves Hilliard til the 2nd half to let his pet Ware "wear down" the defense then it is another terrible Miles move

Why would you degrade an LSU player by mentioning him as a pet???? What do you mean by that?

So are you saying the only reason his YPC are high is because he has big runs? Because isnt that true for pretty much anyone?? He has the ability to take it to the house on every play, therefore, he will have some big runs.

Or are you saying his runs were in "garbage, mop up duty"? Because he ran for almost 100 yards in the SEC Championship game so not really sure where you are going with that.

Nothing, but people don't like hearing that about Blue. I like Blue a lot on this team. Great special teams guy and good back up RB. But he took advantage of tired defenses in a lot of games last year. Nothing wrong with that, but it should be acknowledged.

I disagree with you about Miles being clever enough to split up carries over the course of the season. I honestly think it's part of the approach.

I think people are letting the last bit of the season affect their opinion on Ware. Dude is a ram and wears the shite out of opposing defenses.

Yep. Watch his early season video. If you keep him fresh, I don't know how you can keep him from being a major contributor.

6 of his 94 yards were in the first half.

His next significant carries were after we were up 21-10.

His 48 yd TD was in the 4th Qtr when we were up 28-10.

But yeah, he didn't capitalize on tired defenses or anything.

umm no, ya big dummy

Lester Earl said Blue was the best. I said you have to remember he got a lot of his yardage in garbage time of games. He is still a good back but his 6.9 ypc is deceiving because of all the carries he got against the weaker non conference teams and late in games we were up 21 when the other team was already quitting.

18 yard td run vs WV when we were up 40-21 with 3 minutes left

7 carries for 45 yards on a drive against UF in the 4th when we are up 34-11

48 yard TD when were are up 28-10 in the seccg in the 4th quarter

9 for 119 yards against WKU

15 carries against northwestern state

etc etc

its just stupid to waste carries you could give to Hilliard getting 6 a pop for Ware who is trying to run into the arms of a LB as fast as he can to impress Miles on his toughness

Hilliard impressed me the most.

He has vision, which the other backs seem to lack IMO.

Blue can't control *when* he gets his carries. I think he can be (and will be) a force in the first half of games.

There are people in the know that say he is at or near the top of the depth chart. I don't want to go into too much detail because its from 247 premium board.

I've learned to NEVER believe anything Les says in the Pre-Season. Remember 08 when he said that O-Line was the best since he'd been here? Or the glowing reports on #9 for the last three years? Same with all the radio/ television guys' analyses. They see warmups before practice and formulate these ideas of who's going to " break out" and thoughts about run/pass ratios, etc. based on Drills and stretches. It's all Worthless, time filling BS.
I promise you, Moscona almost came on himself yesterday when Slive hinted that 14 may not be the final number of SEC Schools, with as much time as he wastes on Conference realignment rumors...

I hope Blue gets more carries. I loved his TD run vs. Georgia where he followed his full back then split the two defenders

Seriously there's several teams on our schedule that we literally may not even have to throw a pass on.
We have a behemoth offensive line with a 270 pound Copeland at FB, plus Hilliard, Blue, Ford, Ware, Hill, and Magee ! Jesus Ezekial Christ.

I see Hilliard, Ware, Blue and Hill as superstars; while Ford and Magee could start for most SEC teams.

Then you got the Wild Tiger with Shepard and Dural, end arounds/reverses to Shepard, Beckham and Dural, plus that reverse play we ran against Bama in '10 with Ford pitching to the TE (where was that Jan. 9?)
