Same can be said about your disdain for him. Your sig quote proves that.
thats not an accurate quote?

If the players had tackled better the first half would've turned out differently. You cant argue with that.
You're right. We're a couple missed tackles away from being the 85 Bears. I hope we can keep Chavis with all of the NFL suitors that will come calling after seeing that game.

You are a master at twisting words. All i said is that if they hadnt missed some tackles the first half would have been different, which is what Miles said.
And no, its not an accurate quote.

If that is an accurate quote...I am even more concerned now than I was before.

Well, I guess the Advocate writers are just making up lies about Miles now. They definitely hate LSU and do this kind of thing all the time.

Great thread. Don't listen to the clueless, they are very immature.

I agree...frankly tackling is way overrated as a defensive tactic.

per The Advocate
--Miles spent a good portion of his discourse with media after the game praising the new defensive staff for its preparation.
“I saw the kind of Tiger defense tonight that I want to see,” he said. “Our coaches put us in a good position to make tackles, and we didn’t always make them, but it was a good plan against a very good Washington offense with an outstanding quarterback and athlete in Jake Locker.”
Miles admitted seeing the numbers roll up on one of the video boards of Washington’s yardage — 300, then 400, and finally almost 500 as the Huskies scored on the last play of the game — was not pleasing.
“But this is a good win to start the season,” Miles said. “And now we’ve got to improve for Vanderbilt.”
All of which left Miles with his final words going out the door, “We’ve got work to do."--
Notice he said "we didnt always make them" not "they"

Yeah, Maximus has taken the BOOM a couple times in this thread. One thing is for certain, he keeps a lickin and keeps on tickin.
And the funny thing is, by the tone of his posts, he actually thinks he's got a legitimate, credible opinion. My sister had more objective thoughts about the LSU-UW game than what I've seen from Maximus so far.

Thanks for posting the comments. I appreciate it. I also remember before the Saban years LSU Coaches talking trash. This PC by Miles was not Trash. He addressed all the concerns we had. Not much more he or we can do until we see the next game.
Hey, I was bummed as the next person, but it's time to move on.
If you want to see a crisis in action, look at Oklahoma. Stoops is covering in the press conferences, but the press is all over this team's demise. They have a young line, experience qb out, and they (the fans and press) are freaking out.
LSU will be fine. At least our Coaches admit there are problems and they will try to fix them. That's good for me, until I don't see any improvement the next game.
The biggest improvement in a team is from the first game to the second. We've all heard that. And man, some teams had some bad first games.
At least we won.
Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely correct.
Yeah, Ohio State's defense and QB really impressed me last weekend against the well-oiled machine known as Navy. As did Oklahoma's diverse offense. And Texas looked great giving up 20 points, 100 yards rushing and 200 passing to UL-Monroe while also turning the ball over to ULM three times. Florida State and Miami's defenses both look ready for the big time now, too. Georgia appears poised for a title run with their creative offensive play-calling. And Alabama looked very disciplined in their game against a mediocre Virginia Tech team while turning the ball over twice and rolling up over 80 yards in penalties(sarcasm intended obviously, lol)
It was a "preseason" warmup game for LSU. We certainly didn't play our best, but the negativity after one "preseason" game in which we controlled the game for 80% of the game with the youngest QB in the conference and a brand new defensive staff is not cause for the negativity Maximus is spewing. I think one of the biggest problem with some LSU fans is that the only team they watch is LSU, and therefore they have no perspective. FWIW, this problem is not specific to LSU fans, this extends to members of the media and other fanbases as well. Many fans simply don't have perspective.

FWIW, he thought the Malveto clusterfrick defense was well coached, too.

"We gave up a lot of yards, but at times I saw the Tiger defense that I want it to be," Miles said. "Our defense was in position. Our tackling was sloppy early on, but we got better as the game went along."

Wow, and just think if LSU had just played ULM and gave up yards to them like Texas did. Fans would be totally flipped out for sure.
I love my team and we will have a great season. Book it Dano!
