Miles needs a Payraise??

Miles keeps sliding further down in Pay and I know some people think it is great! With Visor Boy getting a $700,000 raise and even Franklin getting $4.5 Million at Penn State Miles is not keeping up. He is now 5th in Pay in the SEC with the Midget and the other two clowns (S&M) and now Visor Boy ahead of him. Seems like the going rate now is $4.5 to $5.0 Million a year with the Midget on top with his $7 Million Texas Holdup!! I would think Miles should be at least be even with S&M at $5 Million?

I just threw up in my mouth.

(S&M)???
Sumlin, Spurrier, Muschamp?
And why does he deserve to be better than the 5th best paid coach in the SEC?

Miles deserves the support of the LSU fan base. He makes a ton of jack. The only thing missing is his support from the fans.
He isn't perfect but show me a coach that is. That includes Saban.
He's not all about money, unlike a certain former LSU head coach. He's about the program and the players.
Saban is on a two game losing streak while Miles is on a 3 game winning streak plus getting the #1 recruit in the country as well as the #1 MLB, as well a top ranked safety in Jamal Adams.

The fact of the matter is LSU is NOT paying for championships, like so many on this board and IRL keep asserting.
After the last raise, Miles is not overpaid; he is not underpaid.
Been saying this since his hire, we as fans are getting exactly what we've paid for.

kind of crazy that if he would've won the nc game in 2011 he would be making at least 5.8mil right now.

Loss to Ole Miss= no pay raise

Miles is lucky I wasn't the AD last year when he started flirting with the Arkansas job in order to get another contract extension/ raise. I would have asked him "what more he wanted from the LSU family who has been so loyal to him on national TV and then asked him to be a man of his word by fulfilling his contractual obligations".
I know coaches flirt with other schools in order to get contracts extensions/ raises all the time. But, I would love for an AD to pull a coaches pants down for using this tactic against me if I were in an ADs shoes.

I doubt Miles ever opened his mouth to Alleva about a raise or the Arkansas situation. His agent would handle the conversations with the the two schools which is his job and how he gets paid also. Just the way the coaching world works or at least coaching at this level. Everybody does it..

A pay raise for stability. I'm ok with that.

OP do you have season tickets? Do you contribute to TAF? If so, while I disagree, I respect your opinion. If not, then I don't give a shite what someone who doesn't have any "skin in the" game has to say re: the coach's salary.
No, the coaching staff's salary doesn't come completely from season ticket-holder' pockets. But every time there is a raise, ticket prices and TAF fees go up within a few years.
Miles is a fine coach. He gets paid well. But the reason playing finishing 5th in the SEC and not playing for a NC is not that he's only the 4th or so highest paid coach in the SEC.

Didn't we finish about fifth in the SEC? Sounds like his compensation is well matched with his performance.

I never said he did?
If I find out you are talking to Arkansas and not giving me a heads up then that's even worst?
I know agents are the way they pressure teams to get a better deal but an AD could regain the moral high ground easily if he wanted to shame a coach. That's all I'm saying. I haven't seen an AD strong arm a coach this way before.

then you cut him a check. I think he owes Tiger fans some money back for his lack of preparation at ole piss this yr

What are the salaries of the coordinators on those coaches staff paid? Miles will soon have million dollar coordinators on both sides of the ball. That has to factor into the pay for a head coach. If HC is involved in play calling to a point where he is basically a coordinator that should factor into his pay.

I support Miles but he is being paid very well. He shouldn't be given a raise just because other coaches are being paid more.
Any raise should be based on merit in my opinion, such as winning championships.
