He'd be coaching with 2 hands tied behind his back.

I said I didn't think Les had any real desire to coach at 63 when he's got monthly retirement checks coming in to the tune of about $135,000. And yes, he would be coaching at a wounded school.

Having said that, I don't want the man anywhere around LSU recruiting area and certainly not fricking next door at Old Miss.

They just introduced Luke as their interm HC and gave him a 500K raise. So if Les indeed gets the gig it wouldn't be until 2018.

whatever he doesn't get from ole miss we pay the difference, i believe. but it still lowers our obligation to him directly by millions.

What if Les wants to stick it to LSU and signs for $1?

Apparently OM didn't learn their lesson with hiring washed up SECW coaches

LSU just hired a coach Ole Miss fired because of performance.

We should keep our mouth shut on that front baw.

I think this would be good for OM, just so he leaves LSU for good and finds some other place to hang out

If he does get the job, let's hope his first move is to hire Cam Cameron...

How would Patterson handle that move?

I hope he goes to the Big 10 or whatever they call themselves now. I don't want him in the SECW.

I'm the exact opposite. I hope he stays in the SECW and gets exposed.

I hope this happens and he has major success just to piss off the dumbasses who disrespected everything he has done for LSU

Him being a major success implies that he beats LSU as the head coach of Ole Miss. So you're a Miles fan, not an LSU fan.

I agree. Best miles will get and if he wants to prove he can coach at a high level ole miss is it. Miles is a household name. Parents will trust their kids with him in charge. He can recruit and has plenty of instate talent and ties to La to build a winner. Smart move. By ole miss if true

The only way this works is if OM decides the objective in hiring CLM is to re-brand the school, its ethics, and public perception while at least being competitive in some games until sanctions are over.

CLM will have to understand that is his role.

5 yr contract, that can terminate after 3. Throw CLM 3.5m per year and just deal with whatever sanctions hit

Oh it's absolutely going to suck.

But it's also going to be funny as hell.

Why should we be concerned? Saban wanted to coach the NFL and eventually ended up at bama. What do you do? And what, we hang on to Les because "oh shite, what if he ends up at Ole Miss?"
