Nothing after these two words could possibly make any sense.

Nuts,tell us about your coach.

He can't fire him because of the buyout. It's not his decision. He is allowed, however, to upgrade his staff.

WOW!!! so this is what LSU's athletic department has become...a program who's so financially strapped that they can't even buy out an assistant coach????? that in conjunction with Miles' rediculously enormous buyout says ALOT about the morons guiding the ship. idiots love surrounding themselves with idiots...maybe that explains why LSU is stuck with these useless crapsacks as coaches.

I like the idea of GC returning because the pressure is on him and I expect him to run a high scoring high power offense next season

i am OK with giving Crowton another year. he isn't perfect and neither has any other OC i've ever seen. we, as an offensive unit, seem to be trying to be a jack of all trades (and master of none). are we a power running team? are we a spread offense? are we a pro-set team? we seem to be trying to be all three with a lot of different plays but rather a limited set of plays with each formation.

The real reason is Crowton knows where to pick up chicks on other SEC Campuses

Below Par reported the 1M was an issue in regards to keeping or letting Crowton go.

quote:

Crowton-I don't think is quite as for sure as I thought. Miles has definitely talked to possible candidates, but there is talk around LSU that it might be too expensive to buy him out at this point. That is out of Miles hand I believe. We will see what happens.

Do you realize LSU could not afford to send the full band to an SEC game like they usually do?

LSU Athletics is under financial strain. The university raised its auxillary fee from 3% to 5%. Meaning Athletics must give back 5% of its total athletics budget back to the university (equates to about 30% of its profit).

Mack Brown just got a huge pay raise. Coaches are getting replaced as usual this year despite the dreadful economy and you're telling me LSU CANT fire a offensive coordinator. Thats ridiculous!

I never said they can't do it. I'm saying Miles does not have the authority to do it. That was reported by Belowpar....who looks to be an LSU insider.

Texas generates more revenue than any other school in football, and he is in the same position as Miles when he got his bump a couple years ago....and when LSU bumped Saban.

The whole Crowton decision is difficult because of the state of the Louisiana economy, and the fact that they are 2 years removed from a NC, AND can still win 10 games and finish in the top 10.

The person accountable for the $1 million is not of fan mentality. Not saying I agree, but that's how it is right now.

No, but Alleva and Miles must be having some candid behind-the-scenes chats about this whole thing...

he playcalling has little to do with our struggles this year.

complete and utter BS. Crowton was infamous for once something worked he shitcanned it. Did you watch the Auburn game? Where were those hitches and fades the rest of the year when the situation called for them between the 15's? WHat OC with any sense calls a 4 verticals route at the 32 yard line of Ole Miss with no safety valve with the game on the line? What OC shitcans the one route that was money all year and only runs it once against arkansas..that being the comeback route? The corner route was also shitcanned after the UF game. I could go on and on. watch some games man. Our young Qb with a weak O line coupled with crowtons bad playcalling just compounds our problems. crowton did not cater to his weaknesses. he did not scheme around them at all.

ok you lost me there. He is not a very smart QB. He is a dumb QB. If he has time to practice, he can be a very good QB. you make him do things on the fly, he looks like a lost child in a doctoral physics thesis presentation.

How can you begin to say that JJ is a dumb QB? His one problem was pocket presence... He didn't have nearly as many problems as Lee had last year (locking onto receivers, throwing inadvisable passes, etc.), and the pocket presence is hard to learn with an o-line that makes it tough to predict whether you're even going to have enough time to finish your dropback.

so lets say les wins a nc. this year,he would become the highest paid coach according to his contract, and with sabens new raise that would be a big increase for miles.so now according to some lsu cant afford to pay gc.1 million $ BUYOUT.maybe miles wants to keep crowten, couldnt be that simple.
