That was been the problem since Jarrett "pic 6" Lee. I have personally heard people that know him say he was never the same. Mett was the exception not the rule.

There is and will never be an effort to establish a passing attack as long as he as a running back. He is three yards and a cloud of dust and will always be that way now. Cameron may not even exist as a coach, has anyone checked to see if his headset is connected...??

Les is running the show he is the conductor on this crazy train and he is going to run it right into the river.

ETA: Les has an understanding of what Brandon can and cannot do in that offense. He still should find plays that highlight Brandon's strengths. Our QBs didn't get a scholarship b/c they were good at throwing darts. They guys have skills, if we ask them to do what they are most comfortable doing.

#1 thing a qb has to be is accurate. Miles has not had many accurate ones. Therefore he doesn't trust them.

If Harris could place his throws better, the passing game would at least be more competent.

He will pass when he trusts his QB and will play ultra-stupid conservative when he doesn't. The problem is he needs an NFL QB before he trusts them enough to let them pass (JR, MF, & and Mett are the only ones he's trusted in 12 years).

So he needs to recruit and develop QBs better to gain trust, or he needs to run an offense that doesn't rely on passing. He obviously chose the latter.

well, he did call a pass play with the game on the line...and it backfired...makes you wonder if the passing game will shut down like it did when Lee threw that interception in the 2011 Bama game.

Well Harris still struggles with reading defenses.
It's obvious.
He locks on to Dupre for some reason when Dural was Jennings target and is better.

Harris has a problem trusting his blind side protection and has nervous feet. To be honest, his int makes me think he needs glasses more than anything else. The receiver was sitting on the sideline and was not breaking inside. The DB did not jump the route.

In game vs bama in tiger stadium when mett was QB few years back it was 3rd and 3 with about 1 minute and half left. Met had hit 8 or 10 in a row. Bama put 10 in the box, guys on radio were screaming any pass world be wide open. We ran an off tackle got 2 yards missed a FG and then loss. As soon as the ball was handed off I am screaming (I gave a shite then) we are going to fricking lose.

So do u think he really trusted Mett?

I don't trust him either.

Problem is, Les has been able to rely some great O lines and backs.

I'm afraid we don't have the o line necessary this year, and stubbornness now will be disastrous.

It is apparent that the last QB Miles trusted was Zakk Mettenburger.

Zakk was allowed to throw it all over the field. Zakk was also allowed to run an offense that resembled something a simplified High School offense.

I am not sure you can say that considering we threw it 5 out of 6 times in that last drive when all we needed was a FG to win. We got the ball with just under 3 minutes left and a TO and only needed to go 55 yards to have a decent attempt at a FG.

Also, we were in FG range w a TO and just under a minute left when the ball was snapped on that last play. If he didn't trust his QB, he would have gone conservative and ran it 3 straight times to try to improve the distance and force Wisc to waste all 3 TOs.

DING DING DING!!! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!! (Pun intended)

Trust me I'm pissed about Saturday, but I wonder how drunk some of you were while watching the game. Was there a lot of the same old stubborn play calling? Yes. But we threw the ball more than I expected. Chi Dupre dropped a shite ton of passes and Harris throws high heaters on nearly every pass.
The biggest concern to me is how unprepared the offense looked. Les had spring and fall camp to get the team ready for this game and they looked like shite.

The issue with much of the passing game is it features 2 receivers running very basic routes. This requires a very accurate QB, Aaron Rogers type accuracy, because receivers aren't going to be very open.

Three plays that show what the offense should be doing in the passing game are the wheel route to Fournette, the completion to Smith and the double move by Dural. Each of these were designed to create open receivers, giving the QB a little room not to have to make a dead perfect throw. Wisconsin was very effective with this, Fumagalli was open all day.

Doesn't trust his QB? Do you guys watch the game, or are you too drunk to remember anything beyond the final score?

Series 1 went three and out with the final play being a keeper by the QB.

Series 2 was three straight pass plays that went nowhere.

They were actually trying to be balanced, but failing to complete passes.

The problem isn't trust in the QB, it is consistently running tight sets instead of spreading out the defense.

Well if we could just coach them up, that would be great. We've recruited every style QB with the same results.

Mett had a good run, but who wouldn't when you had OBJ and Landry with Hill. We still couldn't win with them.

OBJ and Landry made Mett look better than he was, but he was also groomed by Richt before transferring.

Or Miles could run an offense that sends more than 2 receivers out. Say like 4 or 5. Maybe a slip screen. Maybe even flooding a zone with too many people to cover or just doing things that allow receivers to more open. Harris is having to thread every throw into a tight spot because Les wants to send out 1 or 2 receivers. It is a complete joke. I know maybe he could give Harris a run pass option that forces a defense to come in and leave someone open. It is actually too simple to even comprehend how he cannot comprehend.

U guys realized that both QBs last night were with their coaches respectfully less than half as long as Brandon Harris has been at LSU. Jimbo takes a true freshman and fixes him at halftime, and freeze has a guy for 2 years.
