He shouldn't. He doesn't take his role very seriously.

Les doesn't take his role very seriously? I can definitely agree with that.

SFP, as a coach, you handle each player differently in these situations.
You can get on Byrd, because he is a SR. He should know better. And he isnt playing up to his potential.
Someone like Jarrett Lee, who is a FR and in his first season and is a QB, you can't exactly take shots at him publicly.
I always thought that was understood. Shouldnt have to explain that.

i don't get the DC love in the media while blaming the struggles on the players
they're grown men who are PAID to do a job. anything you say about byrd applies to them and then some

How could he get on Jarrett Lee for throwing a catchable ball to the "only in his mind sure handed" Byrd.
Or how can Miles defend SR Curtis Taylor who is so lost at safety that I think our Defense looked better when he was injured the last two weeks.
Wha would SlowFlowPro do?

I suppose Miles could be plain wrong about the DCs and therefore defends them.
How he fixes the situation from here on will really define his future at LSU.

You need to work on interpretting information. I' ve never seen LOVE in the media. I have seen him state he like some defensive calls that players botched. When coverage breakdowns occur like we've had this year...........the players are just as much to blame as coaches.

I dont totally understand this either. But the problem is two fold.
Take yesterday for example:
1)Phelon Jones blows coverage on 3rd and 17. TD
2)Punt safe protection, and they do a successful fake punt. Ends up a TD on that drive.
3) Chris Hawkins drops easy INT. Drive ends in a TD.
The first 2, seems the calls were right. Werent executed by the players.
3rd was just a lack of execution on Hawkins. He's dropped INTs all year.
All year our defense has lacked aggressiveness. They have tackled poorly. They have dropped INTS. They have playerd overall, with a low football IQ.
Earlier in the season, I was putting that on all the players. But it hasnt been corrected. The coaches deserve a lot of the blame for not correcting ANY of that.
anyway, enough ranting...
I havent read today's paper. Has he defended the DC's after yesterday's game?

I just can't blame the players when there are that many coverage break downs. the majority of these same players didnt botch plays like this last year. but I'm not sayin Pelini was the greatest either because he was overrated.

You people need to get off of D-Byrd. He has always been clutch, and if he is not catching the ball, something is wrong.

[Snead] was again, an on-fire quarterback in Tiger Stadium,” Miles said. “We knew they were pretty good on defense. I’m surprised at how well they threw the football on offense. I felt like we would stop the run and did not expect them to throw the football as well.”

every qb to play in tiger stadium this year is on fire. imagine that.

I will tell you this......Miles will throw BOTH coordinators under the bus after the season is over.....
Byrd just needs to shut up and play.....catch the ball when it comes to you......and did I mention shut up?

we have 3 of 4 new starters in the secondary
and the backups are all young.

well they should be getting a little better as the season progresses right? a lot has to be scheme and coaching because 85% of the time everyone is out of position.

he said that snead was "on fire" and that's why we couldn't stop him
which is somewhat true...those 2 passes back to back against PP were perfect
but EVERY QB has been "on fire" against LSU this year
