yup. if running works, then run.

running doesn't always work, so i hate to see us in predictable passing situations if we haven't been passing much.

I didn't agree with running the ball exclusively in the second half.

3rd series after fmask penalty 3 cnssec paasses 1/3 4yds punt. How can an OC keep callling pass if team can't execute?
State still crowded los next drive and 2 mmin time afforded to MSU late fg attempt drive.
Staff realized momentum swing and time to exit Starkville with a W, not satisfying rants thirst for balance.

I can agree with that, but I will say that my emotions will be on a short leash. If Auburn defense 100% sells out for the run and doesn't even make an attempt to pretend like they care about defending the pass and we still continue to pound it into the d line, I may loose my faith in the greatness of Coach MIles, which is on shakey ground right now.

Miles subscribes to the BIG 10 mentality of years past ... "Only 3 things can happen when you pass and 2 of them are bad" from Woody Hayes

They don't watch. We were throwing late into the 4th.

That was crucial. More important than people remember.

Difference in a 52 and 40 yard fg.

6 passes in the entire 2nd half. 1 on the last 2 drives.

I guess by definition, they did throw late....once.

how many of those passes were down the field? How many were play action down the field on 1st or 2nd down, or 3rd and short?

Considering the last time we opened our season against a team that had already played a game we got walloped, I'm willing to give them a pass on this one. We'll see how we look this week.

I think this is also a factor in our D being out of gas. They had never played an entire game. I am hoping that and the holding calls were a result the weird cancellation situation.

Are you fricking nuts? Did you forget 2013 already?

Les is more than willing to throw the ball when he has confidence that the guy throwing the ball can throw it without fricking up bad.

Some of you guys need to wake up and stop feeding on the rant BS.

IF Dupre's play had been originally declared a catch (of IF he sold it better)

IF we didn't lose so many early entrants to the NFL.

IF the Honey Badger, Perrilloux, The Diesel, etc. etc. etc. had an ounce of discretion.

IF Bo Rein had not died.

IF my aunt had nuts...

They had bone headed penalties that took points off the board. Bitch and moan at Alleva for not playing Lake Charles sunday and not getting reps. Tim Brando said it best on Moscona's show last week. They coulda played the game logistical wise but coaches do not want to be taken out of their "routine". The Moo St game was to be expected and any moron shoulda known it was going to be an ugly win. Miles will never ever put his qb, regardless who it is in a position to fail. Remember Jarrett Lee? 6 has 2 starts, BOTH on the ROAD!!! He has been dealt lousy cards and the kid played as well as anyone could ask for. Reading this garbage on this board after one game makes me sick to my stomach. When they kick the living dog crap outta Auburn this crap will all go away.

it's just a fact - miles would rather rely on his defense than his offense.

And that is why the perception is that LSU is a program on the decline because even the most defensive-minded coaches (Saban, Patterson, etc.) know that line of thinking is not enough these days.

With all the criticism of clock management over the last few years, I am really surprised that there has been little to no discussion of MS coach taking a delay penalty instead of a TO, the play before the field goal. Coach really screwed the pooch.

Cry me a river. It was our first game of the season and we pulled out a win.

Think to last year. We ran it down ole miss' throat all game, and if not for 4 turnovers it's a blowout.

We ran on Bama.

We ran on a&m.

Watch what we do this weekend (or don't). We'll ram it down auburns throat, and mix in a little more playaction. This team is going to turn out way better than you think.

I'm just glad he didn't call time out again, before the last field goal attempt. Very hard to watch.

Dead wrong.

In the fourth quarter, we ran 16 plays. 15 were runs.

And 8 of those 15 runs were for 3 yards or less.
