Let's see ,
From last years's offense we lost :
Albert Blue
Jeremy Hill
Odell Beckham Jr.
Jarvis Landry
all now playing/starting in the NFL . Can't imagine why our offense wouldn't just pick up where it left off.

Really? Saban left in 2004. Flynn did not start until 2007. How many frequent flyer points did Saban get flying from Miami to BR to develop Flynn? Did Saban help Flynn in 2007, when he was coach at UA?

Bro...you saying Arkansas' players were better than ours? Collectively?
We are loaded with talent, except at the QB position.

Those boys were in the system for a lot longer before playing and were coached by a different staff throughout the process...a staff that Les doesn't have and hasn't had for years.

Or, you know, he benefited from a year of experience playing in the same system with the same receivers. You don't think that's going to make a player improve over time? Regardless of coaching, a player should always get better in his second year over his first year if everything else stays the same

I didnt know that you develop a qb in his freshman year, then he is what he is gonna be. No further learning needed.
P. Manning, Brees, Brady, Rodgers..... I guess they all learned everything there is about being an NFL QB in their rookie year too?
Did any of you people ever play football?

And Mett last year was with the same staff we have this year. Your point?

We don't need P. Manning, Brees, Brady or Rodgers out there.
We need someone that can pass the ball more than 30%

Alot of the responses in this tread are like ALL the other Miles threads. If the play is successful, the OC called it. If the play is a bust, it's all on Les. Same with the players, Saban developed all the good players and Les is responsible for the ones who have played poorly. The hatred for Miles is truly pathetic.
This response is not directed at you FourthQuarter

BRO..Mett won a national championship in his league before coming to LSU. He was developed at georgia during a stiff QB competition with Aaron Murray under a different QB coach and he was also a pro style QB....not dual threat. We run pro style.

I don't think people HATE Miles...that's harsh. I think people are simply in disagreement over his methods and a game where QB play was horrific (like other games he has coached) is pointing at Miles' major pitfall at coaching and administration.

So he learned nothing in 3 years at LSU, two on the field with SEC competition, one with an NFL OC and QB coach, but learned everything in 2 years, one as a backup seeing no playing time and one as a JUCO QB? Do you realize how dumb this sounds?

Do you actually read the words on your computer screen and then attempt to interpret them?

Exactly! Every QB from 2000-2006 was developed by Jimbo Fisher. When Jimbo left, the develping QBs left.

Mett was an SEC caliber QB playing JUCO. How much development do you think is needed to excel at that level?

Hell, even the people who support Miles 100% are frustrated by the play of the quarterback position and the teams performance last night. But there are people in this thread that state that all the good QB's were mentored by past coaching staffs and fail to give Miles and the current coaching staff any credit at all. That's pathetic!

Nobody's saying that Miles should get no credit at all. He's done a great job with many things, and this team would not have seen the success it has without him. He's also a man of great character, and that goes farther than many realize.
That having been said, he's been here for ten years and it's painfully obvious to anyone with a clue that he cannot develop a QB and his gameday/time management skills leave a lot to be desired.
When he came to LSU he left the OC/QB coach (Fisher) and processes in place that were already operating under Saban. When Fisher left, Flynn played his senior year successfully, and from that point on our QB play has been consistently horrid with the exception of getting a transfer NJCAA champion by luck.

Why does everyone forget that SABAN played Marcus Randall over Jamarcus so that Jamarcus could develop by practicing and be ready when he was asked to start.....maybe possibly miles is doing the same thing with jenninggs and harris

Because
1. Les Miles already has said that he plays the QB he think can win the games in the short term, regardless of long term development.
2. If you think Les Miles is plaiyng Jennings to develop him, explain the regression that has gotten so bad that he is now scoring zero points in a game. And Les Miles was asked if he thinks the offense is regressing yesterday and he said "Yeah, absolutely"
