and the number one ranked 5 star dual threat QB. Just because he is now honing skills as a WR, don't ignore recruitment!

yep, the smart thing is not to play/learn from someone who has reached the penacle and get's paid at the top of his profession. lets go learn from the guy who hasn't done it and doesn't make it. that's "smart".

Hence all of our committed players that comprise one of the top recruiting classes in the nation as well as the past top ten classes are, by default, dumb.

They're just not QB smart.

nice try. ripple effects are that LSU at BEST has a RS frosh in '12 who's never started a game, at worst, a fricking walkon. Recruiting details are that there a small handful of top QBs each year and LSU signed a good one last yr that is a first rnd baseball draft pick followed by a huge ? in this yrs class. You're right, the loss of the only other for sure scholarship QB on the team for '12 won't have an impact on the future of the program or offense in future years.
wait...you are worried about the future of the quarterback position 3 YEARS FROM NOW? wow
we should all know that no matter what we think about sports, things change and they change rapidly. So even having CG on the roster doesn't mean jack shite three years from now. Hell we could have an entire new staff before then and everyone is starting over. What the frick difference does CG sitting on his arse at LSU as a red shirt freshman have to do with the QB position three years from now?
What if LSU doesnt sign a top flight quarterback this class because they have JJ, CG and ZLee? And CG leaves next year because he cant beat out a senior JJ or ZLee? And ZLee doesnt pan out, hurts his arm or goes to the MLB? You sign more fricking QBs and do the best you can with what you got.
It was banking on assumptions with the future of the QB position and laying our eggs in RP's coked up basket that got LSU in this mess in the first place.
damn I forget how many tons of stupid there are on this board

Then how come this other guy left us with Randall and JR?

RP would not be here now no matter what had happened. The mess we're in now has nothing to do with Ryan Perrilloux.

never during the next four years will anyone say if only we had CG everything would be ok.
Not exactly.
This coming season, if both JL and JJ have injuries which keep them out of the very same game vs Florida or Bama, and Barrett Bailey is the starter, we will all wonder about Garrett, particularly if he is starting for Southern Miss or U La LA and doing well.
I could see wishing to practice Russell Shepard and Barrett Bailey at QB this summer, so we are not down to two QBs.

Does this situation mean Z Lee coming now. Hmmmm.

I reserve judgment until the rest of the story is told. Miles might have something up his sleeve in addition to his arm and something more under that hat than his head although if he would use both that would be a good start.

I agree to certain extent Nuts...but had RP been able to stick around, Lee and/or JJ would have had a little more experience before being thrown to the wolves.

How are you and Les related Choctaw? Just out of curiosity.

You're right...hopefully we'll have a RS soph in Lee. But i don't see how the CG situation is Miles' fault...from what i understand he requested the transfer. I could be wrong (although i rarely am
