with the leadoff man, ignore all stats except OBP. kling is at .475. leave him there, he is fine.

His obp is dropping every game. You brought up power. 1 hr in 61 abs.

ignore batting average its a meaningless stat. a player with a 100 average and a 450 OBP is a fantastic leadoff man. batting average does not matter. power and on base skill do.

Sounds like an argument for Milam. He has better at bats than Kling. He battles almost every at bat and his OBP is over .500.

Does it really matter who is better when both have good OBP? We have both in the lineup.

Well our true freshman Milam is hitting .400, but it’s an easier part of the schedule. Kling is batting -.100 less though.

Huge sample size too

do you disagree? you think maybe some other stat besides OBP is more important for leadoff?

best OBP leadoff. best overall hitter 2nd.

with a large sample size, and milam proves to be an on base machine, yes, move him to leadoff. unless he is the overall best hitter, then leave at 2nd.

I would rather have Milam at 1. Kling isn’t patient enough and does not have as good of at bats. Batting +.100 over Kling in the weak part of the schedule isn’t great. I know what you said about batting average, but that’s a lot. When we get to SEC play Kling’s hit by pitches and walks will decrease. He will need to hit.

Best obp leads off? Then Milan, travenski, Neal, jones, Larson, and milazzo should be leadoff over him.

Kling is a 8-9 hole hitter if you can’t see that then it’s time you get some glasses

his at bats must be pretty good as the stats here show .500 OBP

He has 10 BBs on the year. He has a .475 OBP w a sub .300 BA. He’s plenty patient

Kling is partially getting bailed out by hit by pitches. I will give Kling credit for getting hit 7 times because it is an art to take a hit by pitch. When he gets to SEC play the control of pitchers will be much better. That stat won’t hold up.

He has 7 hbp. That’s not really being patient. He might be the best option we have but he doesn’t strike me as leadoff guy.

Batting .279 in the lead off spot. I hope he hits .400 but he doesn’t seem like he will turn a corner

He’s one off the team lead in walks too. He works every count and gets into 3 ball counts probably more than anyone on the team.
