What happened to this LSU icon of the early-to-mid 90’s?

LSU Superfan who would attend pretty much every LSU sport and cheer very enthusiasticly.
He might have also been a bit crazy. Can remember seeing him at one of the lunch halls having a very in depth conversation
with himself.

He wasn't crazy he was legally handicapped. Asbergers type of thing. I knew him well and sat by him at most of the basketball games. Mostly to protect him from some of the jackass students around us that would throw ice at him for standing up. It was just a few. Mike was a good guy and I'm not sure where he is today.

Not trying to be a dick, but it is Asperger's and these folks are not legally handicapped. It is a socialization issue that often times makes these folks stand out as "odd". It does not affect a person's intelligence in most cases. I say this because my son has been diagnosed with it and is about to complete his M.A. from the University of Arkansas. He is still a Tiger fan!

ok sorry for the inaccuracy, I have a good friend whos son has it and he is in college as well but that was not what Mike had then. He told me on several occasions he was handicapped but never said what he had. He almost had Rain Man type of symptoms but not that serious.

I understand. I am usually immune to those things, but I knew you were not being a jerk about the issue. I have known kids that did exhibit the Rain Man symptoms as opposed to my son. My son is the kid who never gets the joke or laughs at something that you and I might not think is funny. All that being said, I wouldn't change him for anything. Have a great day!!

I remember hearing Mike has Aspergers as well (on here I believe). I don't know if they diagnosed it back then; Mike was at LSU early to mid 90s. He was encyclopedic with sports stats though, almost Google before Google.

Dude was a great fan. I was at all the games that he was. Mr 2 legit 2 quit himself. I also personally witnessed him squat over 500lbs in the old gym armory weight room.

The best was watching him get fired up at the rec gym while working out. He'd stare at the himself in the mirror, pointing and grunting...it was glorious.

Right....I am pretty sure he had Asperger's before Asperger's was a thing and it had been defined in the medical community. HIs social skills were a little off, but he was in no way physically or mentally handicapped, he just expressed himself differently than the rest of us. I had him in a math class and his ability with numbers was off the charts. Sometimes he would blurt out answers before the professor wanted him to, so as to give the other students time to process the problem, but the professor was very kind and understanding, as were the rest of us in class.
That having been said, the dude did not have a mean bone in his body. Yeah, he was kinda big and could be a little scary in the weight room lol, but he loved everyone, especially the Tigers, be it mens/women's basketball, volleyball, or whatever.
His sister or mom posted on here within the last couple of years when someone brought up Mike and said he was doing well and the family was appreciative of the mostly kind words everyone had for him. At that time, I think she had said he was doing something at Tulane...but that was the last we heard.
So sis/mom, if you are out there, give us an update on "Super Fan Toole"!

He had assbergers. One of the first people I met at LSU, we were freshman at the same time. He was a sports trivia savant also. I was in the Shaq Pack and he would chill ( his version which was manic) with us waiting to get in the PMAC. First thing I ever heard him say as he got off the elevator in Kirby Smith to a lobby full of students and parents on move in day was “Hey everybody they have bowling in the union who wants to go”. Then darted out the door.
