"Since 2003", which meant his first stint in Norman was not included.

You think the athletic director at a school doesn't have a say in what coaches his school hires?

Clearly not

Its not his money thats going to pay the DC

The only question left, Is Alleva closing the purse or is the TAF closing the purse on Miles?

Offenses have greatly changed since 1999-03.

Nope. Not at a big time school.

Salary is obviously out of the coaches hands but who they hire isn't as long as someone who has stayed out of trouble isn't offered.

Yes, as co-dc. Giving all the credit to one half of that equation is pretty disingenuous. At least throw up the defensive stats with venables after Stoops left to become a hc if you want to do that.

Exactly why I'm excluding that timeframe. Stoops got the HC gig after, but his brother probably had a lot to do with that. Also, a defensive minded HC like Mike Stoops should field salty defenses every year. He didn't.

If you want to fawn over a stint from a decade ago, go ahead.

He's had 4 defenses ranked in the top 25, and 3 in the top 10, in the last 15 years. In the last 10 years, he's had 1 defense ranked in the top 25 and none in the top 10.

That doesn't really sound that much better does it?

Agreed. You continually embarrass yourself in most threads. Your violent threats are amusing considering you can't walk across the room unaided and without catching your breath. Or, at least that's what you've posted in the past.....

I'm not fawning over anything. Just looking at the whole picture. Does that bother you? All of my posts have been questions, pragmatism, and fact based. And I also said I preferred CP after looking at Stoops history.

The AD hires the head coaches of each sport. The assistant coaches are hired by the head coaches, within a budget provided by the AD and TAF. That's how it works.

If the AD starts interfering by telling the head coaches who to hire or not hire, they will have recourse against him if he fires them in the future.

So Dellenger wrote a blog post just parroting the info from the Oklahoma website.

I wish I was a journalist.

Most recent decade and the years he's been by himself are not good. At all.

It changes nothing to count what he did from 1999-2003.

He has been bad for the entirety of the last decade.

It doesn't bother me at all. You just keep bringing up 1999-2003 like it really makes a difference. Stats from over 10 years ago generally don't mean a thing when hiring a coach.
