I have. You're wowed by hype. Remember how poor the media was at picking who the best team was early in the decade? The majority got OU v FSU, OSU v UM, OU v LSU, USC v UT, and OSU v UF wrong. Yet, you're still swayed by their dated logic.

It's easy to look fast, invincible, and great against mediocre competition.

Im anxious to see how we work Hilliard into the gameplan against Bama.

bama has issues on the edge. bama is really strong up the gut. i doubt hilliard can make an impact

our OL can make an impact for hilliard, though

How is that 2011 Bama run D? They are as dominant as I have ever seen. THey give up 2.5 an attempt, USC gave up 2.6 The Miami D gave up 3.1 per attempt. This years LSU D is giving up 2.6.

I dont think the 'dont have much trouble' would be appropriate based on run D.

I heard Ga Southern had some success but didnt see the game. So Bama had trouble defending on the edges again?

Holy shite you're being a homer. Look at the NFL talent on the 01 Miami team. You can dispute USC because of what they turned out to be imo. 2001 Miami is still, right now, the best team ever assembled and it's not even close.

Best pro team, sure. That doesn't mean that when they were in college, and played sub par competition, that they are clearly better than this LSU team.

you're being wowed by bullshite SEC hype and insecurity that arose in 2003-2004

2004 USC and 2001 Miami didn't lose, bro

pretty sure they both beat the living frick out of their opponents in the title game too, which means the selections WERE good

2004 USC beat (rankings prior to bowls)

2001 Miami had SEVENTEEN FIRST ROUND PICKS on the roster. Frank Gore was their THIRD STRING RUNNING BACK.

We still have to run some power though. JC Copeland was blowing up their LBs in the first game, probably to an extent they hadn't seen before. And I don't doubt that it had them a split second slower towards the end of the game.

I don't see it as a waste. Although, I don't think we'll run as many in the NCG as we did the first time. The gameplan will be tighter because the early part won't be spent feeling out the defense.

Yep, that's been a weakness so far (though they have time to correct it I guess.....). GA Southern was working the edges with the option and looking like superstars for a while, with nowhere near the talent of JJ/Ford.

That included putting up around 55 or 60 on Florida in '95 if I remember correctly....

Neither of those teams were as consistent as this LSU team, both playing down to the level of their competition on at least three occasions. When I compare teams, not only do I consider how good their A game is, but I also look at likelihood that they will produce their A game on a week-to-week basis. That's what made the 95 Huskers so special.

but if we're hypothetically matching the teams in the title game, that argument gets neutered

JJ has looked good, so i hope so

LSU is basically running my offense from NCAA 2007 now. lots of i form and some random options thrown in

they seem to have really gotten into a groove with mixing calls up
